9XR Pro probs

Hi all
Got a 9XR Pro which is currently playing up, in that 2 of the trim adjusters have stopped working, the lhs horizontal and the rhs vertical.I can however get to the hidden menus using the 2 horizontal trims and one of the gimbals will not hold its calibration setting.
I have stripped the box down, cleaned all the movement pads on the trimmers, plugs, sockets etc all to no avail, think the motherboard is kaput, I have reflashed the piece but no different.
So any suggestions greatfully received or has anyone out there got a spare m/board they are prepared to sell me?

For the stick problem. make sure the body of the pot is not moving. That would explain the stick losing the calibration. if it is moving, apply some glue to it. Hot glue for example, and check it again by calibrating it.
For the trims, you could have some bad trim switches that need replacing. Please go to the "Radio Setup DiagSwtch" menu, press the trims and see if the corresponding field changes from 0 to 1 when pressed

yes, diag switch, pressing trims changes from 0 to 1 on all trims

then you will have to check your model programming as the trim switches themselves seem to be working well..
Please download your radio's eeprom onto eepskye, put it inside a zip file and post it here..

ok, hopefully later today after I have opened it up look at the gimball!

Ok, with a spray of switch cleaner and some exercise of the gimball, it now appears to be working ok, and, there is no movement of the associated pots.

Ref the eeprom file, in control panel I am not getting any indication that libsub has been found, I am using the latest eesky driver and usbasp software I realise the laptop is not talking to the 9xr pro, but am getting the message tx disk not mounted -- suggestions please?

Plug in the USB, then power the 'PRO on. You should be in the bootloader and the screen showing "Connecting.."

You should now see two hard drives appear on the PC. You do not need linusb for this, and a usbasp device is not used either.

Nope doing that just goes straight to the active model and looking at the active drives nothing is showing there either - think I have had similar probs when I got the first 'Pro and eventually I reprog'd the system by loading to the micro sd directly in my laptop!

Ok now tried another old laptop and different usb leads, now get the bootloader / connecting screen but the pc doesn't show any other hard drives on the list of drives etc and obviously the 'disk not mounted' message in eePskye

What revision is the bootloader?
Does the PC give the "USB device connected" tones?

Update the bootloader.. It is on verasion 2.9 I think.
Then use eepskye to download your radio's eeprom, save it to your PC, zip it, and post it here.

where do I find the bootloader?

The bootloader is part of the firmware file you downloaded. So just place it on the SD Card inside the "firmware" folder. Then start the radio in maintenance mode (horizontal trims held apart) and select "flash bootloader". Select the firmware file and flash it. When completed, reboot the radio..

Bootloader is version 2.9 on the latest test version of ErSky9x. 2.6 is already old.

ok so the eeprom file is in the firmware folder on the sd card and a compressed file on the desktop, how do I transfer folder to the quick reply box as I have tried copying it and also dragging it all to no avail!

Bootloader 2.6 is part of the ERSKY 9x revision 221 download for xr pro - where would the later one be ? in the test version area?

Well looking at your model called "BLOODAXE", the left horizontal and right vertical trims won't work simply because you are not using the left horizontal stick and the right horizontal stick.
On your second model, the right vertical trim will not work for the same reason.
In mode 2 configuration, which is what you have, the sticks are:

Left Horizontal (Rud)
Left Vertical (Thr)
Right Horizontal (Ail)
Right Vertical (Ele)

If you don't use them as source to a mix in the mixer menu, the corresponding trims will not do anything.

Ok guys, thanks for the assistance , I'll go and stand in the corner wearing a pointy hat with STUPID written on it.
I bought the tx last summer and set it up after flashing ,to control Bloodaxe, a vintage Classe M/Marblehead yacht without problem.
When I came to sort out the controls of the yacht I had a blank screen problem, main on/off switch cured by switch cleaner, reassembled, worked ok.Came to prog model 2 and the problem 'arrived'. I thought the flashing would have reset the tx to basic with no programming mounted as with the 9x/xr flashes!
Doh lifes a long learning curve as today has proved, both with the win 10 on the laptop and also the reflashing and other'stuff' with the tx.
Again which download on ER9X would give me the latest bootloader program?, one of the development files? if so which?
Again, thanks Mike, Joao, Rest, and Kilrah
