CYC1, 2 and 3 Algorithms??

Help with any software/desktop related issues. e.g. companion9x, eePe, etc

CYC1, 2 and 3 Algorithms??

Post by boowho »

Trying to learn as much as I can about CCPM mixing.

It would be helpful to know exactly what built-in mixing occurs when CYCx is entered as a source in a channel.

For example, I found this in a book I read awhile back (uses Futaba Channel Assignments).

Obviously the percentages used are arbitrary and the first example could easily be -50%, 100% and -50% (or anything else that is sane)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CYCLIC PITCH (Right Stick - Y Axis)

-36% CHAN 1
72% CHAN 2
-36% CHAN 6

NOTE: AIL settings (CHAN 1 & 6) are always 50% of ELE settings (CHAN 2)

CYCLIC ROLL (Right Stick - X Axis)

62% CHAN 1
-62% CHAN 6

NOTE: Cyclic Roll settings are always 86% of Cycle Pitch ELE settings (CHAN 2) above.

COLLECTIVE PITCH (THR Stick)

30% CHAN 1
30% CHAN 2
30% CHAN 6

It depends of the head type of course. The easiest is to start from the head layout and figure out what each of the servos has to do to tilt the swashplate while keeping it at the same height for pitch/roll functions, and to move it vertically without tilting it for collective.
That's what the software will do.

Or you can look at the source code :)

This might be an interesting place to start. Also a little history here about heli mixing was added to Er9x. Just start reading from that post on.

The below post has a spreadsheet attached with some swash calculations.

Yes, of course..... The source code would do it..... AND I just happen to have been a SW Dev for over 35 years, before I retired.

And (also), of course I should have specified 120 degree swash in my OP.

Cheers
