Taranis X-Lite flashed with X-Lite Pro firmware

Post by EasyRC »

Hi, I just accidentally flashed my Taranis X-Lite (2018) with the Taranis X-Lite Pro firmware with the OpenTX Companion for the first time. Why? Because I bought TBS Crossfire Module for it and it required the radio to be updated to get the crossfire executable. The result of my mistake was my transmitter not wanting to bind to any type of reciever. Including my X8R’s and the crossfire nano recievers. I have tried factory resetting it, re-flashing it with the correct firmware in every way possible. But to no help.

In my settings where you bind to recievers, I get the choices you would expect to see on the X-Lite Pro, not the X-Lite settings that i had before the wrong flashing. Anyone got any ideas here?

Here you can see what my RF looks like in the menu:

As you can see, I don’t think that is supposed to be there.
If I choose external RF i get these choices:
PPM, XJT, DSM2, CRSF, MULTI, R9M, R9MACCESS, R9MLite, R9ML ACCESS, R9MLP ACCESS, SBUS, XJT Lite

Looks correct for a non-pro X-Lite, the firmware for a PRO has either ACCESS or ACCST D16, not XJT. You can check the VERSION page of radio setup menus if you want more confidence.

Got any idea what could be the reason I can’t bind to my X8R recievers? What mode would you use for this?

Probably the radio's internal module firmware and the receiver's firmware don't match.

If you know what's on your receivers (1.x or 2.1, eu or international) then you can flash the radio's module to the corresponding one.
