Haptic and switches.

Post by Rad »

Hi guys, I have ordered the parts needed for installing double haptic in my 9xtreme. The parts will arrive from China in the next 60 days or so, lol.
The question is, is it possible to make the radio vibrate when triggering switches?

I have Rc Tanks, and I think it would be cool if the radio vibrates when I shoot the main cannon (momentary switch) and the machine gun (on-off switch)

If it is possible, how do I do it?

Thanks!

Yes it is, at least with Ersky9x. All is done in the "Audio Voice" menu.

GREAT, now I know where to look. I will experiment with my 9xr pro until I receive the parts for following your tutorial with the 9xtreme.

Thank you!

Hi Joao-Mike. I found the AudioVoice menu and I managed to do what I wanted, and I love it.
Also to asign some voices to some switches. I never did it before and is pretty cool.

The only thing I need, and I think it will involve some software update, is longer vibration times. For example I am using a switch for triggering a machine gun. It would be cool if the radio vibrates continiously, not in pulses until I flick that switch off. So far I found the options haptic 1, 2 and 3, but it is not exactly what I am looking for for the machine gun. But for example, for the main gun, the option Haptic 1 suits like a glove.

So am I missing something or this is not implemented so far?

Thanks guys, this is the hell of fun!

Not straightforward as the entire voice and audio implementation is event driven (e.g. switch turns on, switch turns off). What you are describing is "level" driven (e.g. output while switch is on).
The existing haptic options all include an "off" time, to guarantee one haptic activation doesn't run into another.
The voice alert structure only has 2 bits for the haptic option so giving none, and 1, 2 and 3, so no space to add another option.

What I have been able to do is add an extra "effect" function (filetype = effect), called Haptc4, that only appears in voice alerts. This drives the haptic like Haptc1, but doesn't include the "off" time. This will be in the next test version.

I then set up a logical switch as:
L4: Timeoff 0.1, On 0.1 AND RUD.
This gives a switch that turns on and off 5 times per second while the RUD switch is on. I then used this as the switch for a voice alert, with a trigger of ON, a filetype of "effect" and the effect as "Haptc4".

The result is the Haptic runs almost continously while the RUD switch is ON.
You may try this using "Haptc1" to see how well it currently works.

Hi Mike, thanks for the help, but I am a little bit lost.
I guess I have to wait until the next text version, right? Not rushing you at all, no problem if it takes months, of course!.

Regarding the logical switches, that is something that is still very cloudy to me, not sure how to mess with it right now. But no worries, I will keep testing things, I hope I learn how to use that soon. But yes, 5 times per second on off while the switch is on seems perfect.

Would it be possible to include the "Timer" in the audio voice logical switches?
It would keep all in the same place.

Thanks

I'm not sure it would be useful or meaningful. The trigger already includes a repeat period so you have a "timer" there.

I've just posted "d4" test version. This has the "haptc4" option in effects (filetype) of voice alerts.

Thank you very much for making all our dreams come true.

But if you can make the next revision my radio able to print money, would be great.
If it is too complicated, just to generate bitcoins. Lol

Really, thank you.

Hi Mike, Im a bit confused, I flashed my 9xr pro with the version you updated yesterday, and now I have the option of haptic 4 in filetype/effect, sound effect/haptc4

When I trigger it, If I have nothing in Haptic ----, it vibrates once. If haptic 1, twice. If haptic 2, three times, and if haptic 3, four times

I also programed a logical switch exactly as you explained, and there is no difference.

What am I missing?

I just checked on my 'PRO and it is working as I expect.
I set:
L4: Timeoff 0.1, On 0.1 AND RUD.
and used L4 as the switch in the voice alert.
Nothing in Haptic (---) and effect:Haptc4.
When I switch the RUD switch on, the haptic runs almost continuously until I turn the RUD switch off.

That is the part I was missing! Now it works, thank you very much.

It had some lag switching it off (Keep vibrating a bit after switching off, but I put Timeoff 0.2 On 0.2 and now it works perfect.

Thank you!
