After installing the latest ersky9x with samba, you will only need it again if some catastrophic event happens and you need to reset the chip.
You now have the bootloader to flash your radio, so just un-tick that samba option in the eepskye config menu and forget about it :) :D

Good idea to unclick samba after I update my C Skyboard next.
I'm thinking there needs to be a new Skyboard thread 2016 with the latest parched samba with all the necessary files and eepeskye how to.
A search took me to many outdated locations and flashing info pages.
Mikes patches fixed me right up.

I've put together the SAM-BA files for SAM-BA 2.12 all in a single .zip file complete with the directory structure:

Mike, better to add this file to er9x.com? Or it will be lost somewhere in this forum.
Thanks

Sorry for the question, but what is this used for? I know what SAMBA is.., but is this an update, or some change?

It just puts all the data files needed for SAM-BA (2.12) in a single place. Showmaster recently needed to get SAM-BA running on a different PC, and while doing so, we found there didn't seem to be a single .zip file with everthing in it available. This just puts it all together.

Yes, SKY board, 9XR-PRO and the AR9X board.
As a note, the AR9X board uses the SAM3S8 (512K flash) processor, like the 9XR-PRO. The original SKY board used the SAM3S4 (256K flash) processor.

The Taranis and the 9Xtreme use "DFU" (Device Firmware Upgrade) not SAM-BA.

Hi Mike,

I never used the print function but the posts of 'gerhardp' in "er9x development"
about print function in eepe made me curious. So I tried it with eepskye.

I found that using this function causes eepSKYe to crash when sticky throttle cut
(safety switch type 'X') of the selected model slot is set.

To what extent the rest works OK I didn't test so far.

Edit: at least since rev 402, Oct 27 2014

I've fixed the print crash.
While there may well be more things to add/change, I have just released eepe/eepskye r419. All the source files are up to date on the master branch on Github and the downloads are on www.er9x.com.
The plan for the future is not to take as long between releases and to just do a few changes between them so it is under better control.

Mike, the Linux version indicates that it is r420. Just a mention as it makes no difference to the operation of the program.

Hi,

I have a 9XR-Pro with stock firmware.

I run Mac OSX 10.6.8

Can anyone advise which version of eepskye will work on 10.6.8 snow leopard ?

Thanks

I was trying to open a .eepm file downloaded from a thread there, but when i used eeskye r419 to open it, nothing shows up, there is indication there is window 1, but nothing, no model. How can I open a eepm file?

Have an eeprom window open, right click on an empty model slot and select "Load Model Settings". Then select the eepm file.
eepm files are just a single model.

I don't have a MAC, so can't directly answer. Have you tried some versions and found they don't work?

Mike,

I have tried each version back as far as eepskye.dmg r399. (Mar 26, 2014)

I can't find anything older....

None of them work on 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard)

From the look of the info.plist files the last one was compiled under OSX 10.9

Is there any reason that it cannot be compiled to run on older versions of OSX ?

Thanks

I have no idea!
Someone else does the compile for the MAC. I've asked them what the situation is regarding compiling for older versions of OSX.

Perhaps that Mac maintainer could also advise which minimum version of OSX is required.

Re: eepe v420/v419 and 9extreme board

Post by betibeau »

I have on a TURNIGY9x the v2.4 board from smartiepart. I have exported my models and try to flash onto another Turnigy 9x with the 9xtreme board installed. Unfortunatly I cannot get a usb connexion to the 9xtreme board. EEPE works perfect with the V2.4 board. Where is the trick ? HELP. When I connect my usb cable i see 9Xtreme in the middle of the screen (radio) and r00.3 bottom left of the radio's screen. Does a new driver, or new eepe version must be installed. Or the pinout of the usb is badly soldered ? Thx for a fast feedback. Thierry (BE)

Some of you might find this helpful. If you know already how to install eepskye and download the radio eeprom into eepskye, don't waste your time watching it ;)
