High Amp Current Sensor (450 Amp)

Post by GRacing »

Hello Everyone,

First, this is by all means the best "Open and Not Open Sensor" available :) !

All the things it can do, it's really outstanding......5 stars to the creator and all the ones who helped creating this little brain!!! :)

I have already made 3 of them, one used in a Rc Heli, other in mine Sailplane and the last one in mine Rc Boat!
For Current measurement i was using the Allegro Micro ACS 758-200U combined with the ADS1115, but mine Amp draw is above 200 Amp, witch makes the output of the sensor "clip" !
Being so, if i change a prop or tune anything else, 90% i will be above 200 Amp and the data provided will be useless, since everything important "happens" above what the sensor can "read".

With that problem i created an High Amp current sensor based on a new chip also from Allegro Micro (ACS37612).

I can measure up to 450 AMP using a 1.5mm Bus Bar..From one side of the shunt you cold solder a female connector and on the other side a male connector.

You can check their website and tune the data to suit your needs.

Here i share mine..Hope it will be useful for someone.. ;)
