HI,
I have an idea  for a possible 9x radio 3D Printer project for some one with a 3D Printer.
What I was thinking is to make 9x Radio Case, which moves the display screen to the top of the 9x radio
and maybe the speaker with the 3 pots to the bottom.

Also maybe having the back half of the 9x case able to accommodate 2 external transmitter modules.

Yeah, I had a similar idea too and have been discussing it with the CEO of my club as he has a 3D printer. Well, at least the school where he teaches has one ;) :D

My idea is similar to Bobs idea, but as I fly mode 2 and normally don't use the switches on the right hand side, I wanted to move the screen to the top, and also to the right. I would leave only the THR cut switch on the right side. As the screen is not on the way anymore, I would move all switches to the left side where I could reach them with my throttle hand.
This is what I have on my head at the moment.. Just have to start actually drawing something. But need to learn how to work with a CAD program. ;) :)

I don't know how you hold your radio when you fly your model, but NEVER point the tip of the antenna to the module, as that is the antenna's dead zone. If you do it you will significantly reduce the range..
You have to point the side of the antenna to the model, that's where the RF radiates from..

Same here but ditch the pots and replace them with two taranis side pots.

All great ideas, I like them all. :D
With 3D Printing, custom design products so that each person can have what they want.
Say you needs a servo horn for some odd servo shaft spine, you could make it with your 3D printer. 8-)

By "higher power" you mean higher gain? That means more directional and the issue of reduced signal off the end of the antenna becomes more important. For most flying the standard antenna is the best compromise.

Just an observation, Could the cut out for the rudder control weaken it to much and the motor break off with a hard landing ? :?:
Could this be to weak for a hard landing ?
