Are the I/O pins on a X8R 3.3V only or are they 5V tolerant
The reason I ask is that it would be easyer to use 5V when you are using Arduino (most models are 5V)
I noticed that in the description of the openxvario they are using 5V to the input on A1/A2

But what about the Sport and SBUS, are they 5V tolerant ?
X8R: 3.3V or 5V tolerant
Re: X8R: 3.3V or 5V tolerant
Have a look on datasheet of processor for X8R: http://www.st.com/web/en/resource/techn ... 161566.pdf
You find:
...
Clock, reset and supply management
– 2.0 to 3.6 V application supply and I/Os
2 x 12-bit, 1 μs A/D converters (up to 16
channels)
– Conversion range: 0 to 3.6 V
– Dual-sample and hold capability
– Temperature sensor
Up to 80 fast I/O ports
– 26/37/51/80 I/Os, all mappable on 16
external interrupt vectors and almost all
5 V-tolerant
...
Yes, SmartPort is 5V tolerant for use of 5V-Arduino.
Analog-Digital-Converter on A1-Port maximum 3,6V !!

Re: X8R: 3.3V or 5V tolerant
The 'D' series receivers have a serial input that is RS232 tolerant (+/-6V). The A1 and A2 inputs are 3.3V only. I'm not sure why the openxvario should be connecting to A1 and/or A2.

you can also sent the vertical speed using the Analog ports..

Re: X8R: 3.3V or 5V tolerant
yes, could be useful with a D6FR receiver.
