I'm building an integrated control station for arbitrary unmanned vehicles with 3DR APM cores. The big word here is "integrated". Normally, a hobby drone operator has to deal with at least two devices, the RC TX and a ground control station. There are projects like open9x which include some GCS functions into an RC TX but this can't replace a full GCS for mission control.
My project is based on an Arduino MEGA 2560 on the mission control site and I am planning to use a FrSky DHT and a SKY9X board on the RC side if I still can get one when my budget is back in green
