Using Turnigy 9XR (not the Pro!) with a FrSky X4R-SB receiver

Hi all,
I have a Turnigy 9XR, and a Pixhawk 4 flight controller. Please note: I don't have a 9XR Pro!
I've just received a FrSky XJT 16ch Radio Transmitter Module - JR/Graupner Type and a FrSky X4R-SB 2.4Ghz 3/16ch SBUS Receiver (w/telemetry).
I've succesfully installed the transmitter into the 9XR, and bound it to the receiver.
However, when configuring the Pixhawk4 from QGroundControl, it appears as though the channels aren't being recognised.
I'm wondering if anyone has configured this, and if so, how?
I feel like I've done something wrong on the 9XR, and maybe even plugging the receiver into the Pixhawk incorrectly.
