Lost ability to set failsafe, please help

Ersky9x with Smartie Parts board in installed. I tried updating firmware in D8R-9x, and DJT module and lost ability to set failsafe in system, it also appears as though some of the sound responses in my radio have also disappeared. Radio used say report "no telemetry" communication upon shutting receiver down. Using DJT with D8R-xp in a Turnigy 9X, on board. This happened after updating firmware on both module and receiver, tried to re flash and cannot re flash with either 18, or 27 ms firmware. It appears as though all other functions are operable. Can I turn failsafe back on or did I make some invisible smoke?

It has never been possible to set failsafe in the radio in D8 mode.

My apologies, for my wording. I could not get a failsafe setting in either the RX or TX. I re flashed and was able to pick up the ability in the Rx. Thank you for your reply.
