erskyTx runs on many radios and upgrade boards

The simpleton asked "Hows about ErSky9X for Horus???". And the Genius from Dorset replied "Why not indeed? I shall get right onto it!" And then there was light on Horus! And it was good!

On this occasion I only had to copy the source files from openTx and do a few small edits to get this working.

And you are STILL a genius! heh heh!!! At least that's Christmas sorted for me. New 9X and 9Xtreme. Perfecto!

Is it still on the cards to get it done for the Sky9X board as well? I saw the post on RCG where you said that would require a driver ... and I assume that would require mucho coding and/or be a 'space' issue?

Most of the code should be available from Atmel examples. That is what is used to do the "external hard drive" when using the bootloader. It just needs the HID joystick version, and some adaption to fit with the existing firmware. There is likely to be some specific coding needed for the USB naming/description to work. I do have a book on how USB works, and how to code it, so it should be possible, just need to fit it in with everything else.

It will be great. Hook up the realistic usb flight stick/paddle, add fpv, we have a real flying experience.
Just hook up the 3D video rx to a projector.
Yeah! :D
I think we had that discussion before. But now, looks like it may happen soon. :D

This is for using with your simulator on the PC ;)
The radio IS the joystick. It doesn't accept external joysticks connected to its USB connector, at least not yet.

I see, I will be waiting for the USB device to connect to the Tx then. :) If it starts going one way, then it will be going the other way soon. ;)

None of the transmitters (SKY, Taranis, 9Xtreme, AR9X) support supplying power on the USB connector. This means we have no way of acting as a USB host to an external USB device.

where there is a will, there is a way. :)
If someone can make er9x/ersky9x has the usb capability, I would sit on a pb battery to make it work.

It likely won't happen as every USB joystick nowadays works differently and needs a different proprietary driver, that of course isn't readily available and needs reverse-engineering.
There is a device that can turn your joystick's output into a PPM stream, but it only supports 2 joystick models for that reason.

This one is pretty darn close:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srpKJv_PcpE

here is one of the comment made by the maker:
but its not so difficult. Find a joystick that uses potmeters with the same value as your transmitter. then replace the pot wires from the stick gimbal to the pots on the joystick same apply`s for the trims.

May be this will be my 3rd T9x project. ;)
I know it is not USB, but looks like do able.

Yes that's the best way, dedicate a radio and wire the joystick pots instead of the gimbals.

For now, if you need a little documentation or instructions about this feature, check the OpenTX instructions:
