Understanding er9x / Ersky9x

erskyTx runs on many radios and upgrade boards
ersky9x was a port of er9x for use on the sky9x board.

odd.

Could you please be more specific on which test version causes the problem (er9x or ersky9x, I put a date and time with each version).

Sorry for any inconvenience, but since i was reporting something odd in the futaba port, i gathered that one would make a "connection" to the 9xr pro, since the 9x doesnt have a futaba port.
Anyway this happens with the 9xrpro (ersky9x-r214, from 28-01-2015 - 17:34:50 - test version). I always used the futaba port for simulator purposes and before this test version everything was fine.
Anything else, fell free to ask.
The ideal situation is if somebody else could test the radio in these circumstances.

I just compared the test version from the 26 Jan and the 'latest' from 28 Jan. Both seem to give the same output signal.
What I have noticed however is that plugging certain Tx modules in loads the signal. This is the answer to jhsa'a question "But shouldn't the PPM signal be the same?". The JR jack signal is a different signal, but the Futaba signal is the one on the top pin of the module connector.

That might explain why the radio must be on for the futaba trainer port to work..

Yes i can, but the point here is to fix this possible issue and not go back just because it works. The question is: it worked before, why not now?

Between the 28-Oct-2014 version and the 'latest' version I have "corrected" the output signal to be consistent with er9x and other transmitters. This means that the signal on the Futaba port is now inverted compared to before.

Did the version from 28-Oct-2014 work with both polarities on the Futaba port?

Exactly! So i decided that i would reflash several versions untill back to 08-Oct-2014 11:15, just to see what was the difference from a user perspective. What i concluded is that this always existed, only before, because the polarity was inverted i never noticed. So all in all, this was allways here. And now the question, is it a bug? Messing with it will interfer with the module, since they share connections?

No, no module.
I think i read something about the futaba port and the module bay pins sharing connections.

I know some simulators need a specific polarity. What surprises me is the JR connection works with both polarities. These are both just about the same signal. With no module, I think the only difference is the JR connection has a single 100 ohm resistor in series while the Futaba has two 100 ohm resistors in series.

I think this is a relevant issue just for the simulator. If i change the polarity to negative and/or use the jr port, everything is ok. No big deal. With a real model there will be no issues, i assume.

Hi João,
I have difficulty viewing the small scrip even in full screen, looks out of focus.
I like the videos and I know they are only test versions.
Otherwise good job ! :)

Hi all,
I noticed that when i was configuring the swashring in the heli menu of ersky9x, the angle was decreasing along with the value (0 - 100), but when it reached 0 the swashring had the same value as 100, which means that the swashring had a full swing / amplitude. This shouldn't be normal, right?

It's bit odd, yes.. maybe 0 means that the feature is OFF..
What would be nice is if you could set the amount with a GVAR ;)

But doesn't 0 do the same as 100? wouldn't it be better an ON/OFF setting, or even a switch?
along with a GVAR for controlling the amount of course ;)

NO. A value from 1 to 100 is like a ring of that radius that limits the stick movement. In particular, it limits the stick from moving diagonally to the corner. A value of 0 allows the stick to move to the corner.

So, even a value of 100 is still limiting to the corner then.. understood..

Maybe I am missing something. Is there a way to save the voice alarms with EEPE . I seem to lose all of them when I edit a model on the computer and transfer the model back to 9x. This 9x has 2561, megasound and FRSKY mods. Er9x is FrSky mod version.
