ERSKY9x Rev. B1 User Area

erskyTx runs on many radios and upgrade boards
ersky9x was a port of er9x for use on the sky9x board.

Better to rename old dir and extract new one.
Overwriting will not do anything bad, but you will keep old unused files in the dir.

Thanks Mike for providing a new serial eeprom applet for sam3s4.
Should the link at the top of this thread be updated to point to this tcl_lib.zip?

My mixing setup on my ersky9x is missing sections or can't add no working mixes that had work before.
In November I updated my 9x Rev b1 and now most/some of my mixes don't work like they did. Like to get the Rudder to work I have to throw the RUD switch. Its not in my mix setup for any switches or for the Rudder mix. Or in some cases if I throw the RUD switch I'll loose or get an servo output. Like channel 5 will never change. The same thing will happen to the ELE switch on some models. Even when there is no ELE switch in that models mixer setup.
I have erased the Flash and reprogrammed it. I have tried Version r94,r97,r110 and r130
When we reload the EEProm setup of our models the Expos/DR are all gone. Even if C9x show there are in the setup.

We have 16 models ready to fly but My Tx can only fly 4 of them because the mixes don't work or show up correctly.

We have 3 flying wings that I can't fly because the mixes for Flaprons don't work.
The worked in the past. One servo channel is missing its output.

The Simulate on the companion9x don't work for me. It has in the past.
Not even one servo shows up its movements.

We have 17 eeprom files and it looks like none of them are 100% , more like 20% good.

I'm pulling out my hair LOL don't have much anymore !
What dumb mistake are we doing/missing .

Are you using epproms that have been saved from some time back?

What happens if you create a new mix from scratch (on the radio)

You may be better off using open9x if you use companion. Or use eepe if you use er9x/ersky9x. To my knowledge companion is lagging behind in its support of ersky9x and er9x. This may be the source of the issue.

From r122 (Oct 17th), I did a MAJOR change to the EEPROM structure in Ersky9x. I included code to automatically update models as they were selected. So all that was needed was to flash this new revision of the code and all should be fine.
Unfortunately, I just haven't had time to sort eepe talking to ersky9x, or a special version of eepe to do so. While those working on C9X do support er9x and ersky9x, they have less knowledge of changes than they do for open9x.

Do you get these problems if, on the Tx itself, you create a new model (say in slot 20) and edit the mixes/espo etc on the Tx?

I put a model19 into my Tx it seams OK. My Safety Thu by the THU Cut switch still isn't working like it use to. But if we change one line of the three line mix it works again.

We have it so if the Thu Cut switch is on the motor (ESC) inputs are at a -125 and can't get any movement from the Joys to make the motor run. Needed it so when we had a neck strap on that the motors couldn't start No matter how or what we done to the Tx if that switch was on. If were working on our plane we don't have to worry about some one starting the motors.

It still doesn't read or write the EEPROMs correct from the C9x program. I haven't tried the Open9x yet.

It takes me around 2 hours to put the 16 planes back into the Tx. What a PAIN.

Isn't there some way we could use the SAM-BA program to save / restore the EEPROMs by the data that the C9x has for our Planes/Models ? I know ! Incorrect data format in C9x.

We have the ersky9x-r130 loaded into our Tx at this time.
I like the MENU changes on it. THANKS !
Version V.1467-Mike.

Thanks

Have you used the SAM-BA program direct, rather than through C9X?
With this you can read/write the flash memory, EEPROM memory and the co-processor to/from files on the PC. This lets you backup the EEPROM to a file.

Also companion9x allows read eeprom to file and write eeprom to file
What actually doesn't still works but I'm trying to solve understanding by myself what changed in the ersky9x eeprom structure is editing and saving edited eeprom data.
I think some help is needed to support ersky9x on c9x or we will not be able to support it for too long.
I asked Brent (and he is kindly providing me one) a new board to be able to do some test also on ersky9x.
but with X9DA coming I will run short of time too.

You should see a TAB labelled "Serial Flash AT25" along from the default TAB "Flash". If you don't have that, then you need to update certain files to enable it.

Far from vapourware... Search the forum and you will find pictures of it. The dev team is already in possession of alpha units and working to get the port running.so bet real - just a question of when it will be ready. That may take some time :)

Thanks was able to backup my eeproms data.
We did a compare and it check OK.
We didn't up load after we saved the file. Were going flying tomorrow and didn't want to take a chance that forced me into
2 hours of programing the Tx again. LOL

It look like it back up OK. It is 4K bytes long.

Just got an update of C9x
companion9xInstall_v1.13.exe It look like it did a good download of the models setups. Will try saving tomorrow after we fly.

Thanks CharlesB

The external EEPROM is 512K. Currently, all ersky9x data is in the first 168K. When backing up, you need to set the address to 0, and size to 2A000 minimum, but you may use 80000 as the size to get all 512K.

Yes, but Charles was asking about how to use SAM-BA directly above, looking for the "EEPROM" tab. This is why he only got 4K, the default size is 1000 I think.

C9X can back up the ERSKY9X completely now? Last time I used it to backup, everything is fine BUT the voice switches were not backed up correctly. All voice switches was reaplced with something else than what I set. I can't remember which version of C9X I was using. but if not the latest, it was one version before.
I will try it tonight to give you a report.

If you just want a backup, use the "Read EEPROM memory to file" option. This should just read the model data and store it in a file. C9X does NOT need to know anything about the content.
