ERSKYTx (was ersky9x) Questions
Re: ERSKY9x Questions
I did, but still not on the PRO. There isn't much space inside Most of my other radios have a multimodule installed inside.

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
I have 3 irange IRX4 plus modules and 2 from Banggood….Thought about giving it a try . I just installed Taranis gimbals in all 3 ..Figured it out so they fit perfect .Anyway I thought I might install the modules if I can find the room

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
Quick question, how do I flash frsky receivers from ersky9x and taranis? I'm familiar with the procedure from opentx, but when I try on this setup, the firmware doesn't find the file to flash. I put the firmware files on the SD card in the Firmware directory

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
Well, I figured it out. Turns out the frk file needs to be on the root of the firmware directory and not in a folder

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
Hi guys. Is it possible to connect and use this module FrSky Taranis Plus internal XJT module Replacement RF board with the Ar9x board?

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
Currently, the internal protocol doesn't include PXX/XJT because it is quite difficult to generate accurately on the internal connection.
We would also need to check how to wire it in.

Thanks Mike for your answer. I thought this board in MK include.
Next question. Can I reset telemetry through logical switches or any other way when telemetry lost?
I often forget to choose the telemetry reset menu

Hello Mike,
is it possible to add a feature for the qx7 to ersky9x that let you control the rgb light on the on/off button to different colors?

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
It may be possible. Currently I only allow one colour on at a time, and there is the added consideration that I allow the RED LED signal to be used as an extra analog input. My own QX7 uses this and so has a slider on the left side!

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
I missed this question.
Yes you may do that, but only by writing a script. Script functions include reading the current position of a switch and resetting the telemetry.
The resettelemetry function takes a numeric parameter that specifies what should be reset:
0 – Reset Altitude
1 – Reset A1 offset
2 – Reset A2 offset
3 – Reset GPS
4 – Reset all

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
Hi,
I'm Italian, I've installed ersky9x on my frsky q7x and I'm very satisfied.
I have a question.....
Frsky, it's going to release the new protocol Access with new features.
I'd like to know if ersky9x it will be compatible with this new protocol and it will be able to support the all new features like smart shere, wireless binding, ecc...
Best Regards
Alessandro
P. S. Sorry for my English

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
Yes, ersky9x will be supporting the Access protocol, I'm working on it at present.
My understanding is that certain features, such as power meter and spectrum analyser, are dependent on the hardware, so may not be available on the QX7, but smart share and wireless binding should be available.

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
Support for the QX7 (and X9D/plus) is likely to take a bit longer as the update for these (older) radios operates differently to the latest radios.

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
Hello
I use a translator, so sorry.
Is it possible to make mutually exclusive functions for the external and internal modules?
I use XJT and R9M modules for different models.
I do not use both modules at the same time.
The XJT module is built as an internal module.
It is very inconvenient to switch the wires inside the equipment each time.

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
The ARUNI board does not have software controlled power switches for the modules. Other than that, you may use just one module or both as you require.
You need to either add a physical switch to control the power to the modules, or build an extra circuit to control the power automatically, João will probably point you to such a circuit.

This is what I use on my radios 9x with 9xtreme, Skyboard, and Ar9x. It is a soft power switch for both internal and external RF modules.

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
There is no task to switch the power supply of the module.
The XJT module is connected to PPM2.
R9M module is connected to PPM1.
In the protocol settings for external, you can select XJT and type R9M.
In the settings for the internal one, you cannot select the type XJT, only ppm, multi ...
I am suspecting some sort of difficulty to enable for the internal module type XJT. Can subsequent versions of the firmware make mutually exclusive XJT types for internal (PPM2) and external (PPM1) mod? What type of XJT can be selected for both internal and external modules.

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
The Atmel processor has a synchronous serial device available to generate the XJT protocol for the external module. The internal module connection only has a PWM device. It used to only do CPPM, but I did manage to get multi and DSM to work.
It may be possible to get XJT to work but needs some new driver code written and tested to see if it is possible. I'm not sure when I will have time to do that.

You do not understand what I want to say, I use a translator! It's a pity.

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
I believe Mike 100% understood the problem.
1. You have 2 modules. (XJT and R9M)
2. XJT physically in the controller R9M out.
3. Motherboard has two PPM output. (PPM1 and PPM2)
4. You using just PPM1 (calling "external" in the menu) for both module and you swap the wires (PPM) depends which module you want to use.
Because at the moment PPM2 (calling "internal" in the menu) does not support XJT protocol (yet).
This problem was explained by Mike.
Another thing what they explained at the beginning, if that your request possible to implement in to the firmware, there is have another problem.
If you use just one of your modul, other one should be switched off by cut the power.
This could be solved use a circuit mentioned by Joao.
Otherwise I have same 2 modules and would be very nice if ever I can using in my 9XR Pro.
Mike didn't says is not possible, just says need more time. This is a good sign to me.

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
The solution Customize attempted to suggest is to have a setting (perhaps somewhere in the Hardware menu) that reassigns the MCU pins. His idea is to swap the Internal and External ports. This way, the Internal will get all the bells and whistles, while External will become limited to PWM (CPPM, DSM and Multi) only.
As far as I know, reassigning MCU pins is a common thing on these MCUs, but I'm not sure if this particular swap is possible / easy to do...

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
I think the problem is that you would have to swap the "Physical" pins. Not just in software...

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
No no, the magic is that it can be done in software!
At least that's what my engineers were saying about SAMD chips when we discussed some other (unrelated) project.
There are some limitations, of course. So I'm not sure whether the requested swap is possible at all...

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
What I understand from Mike's post (quoted here) is that there are hardware limitations related to the physical pin used for the internal module. Of course, this on the processors used on the upgrade boards we are using, Ar9x, 9XT, and the 9XR-PRO radio of course..MikeB wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2019 10:56 pm The Atmel processor has a synchronous serial device available to generate the XJT protocol for the external module. With another processor type this might not be the case?
But as Mike said, there might be a possibility to make it work with software. So, let's hope and keep our fingers crossed

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
The synchronous serial device (SSC in the datasheet) is fixed to port A bit 17 and may NOT be assigned to another pin. PA17 (SSC TD) is the external PPM signal and one PWM peripheral may be assigen to it, or the SSC so I use the PWM for the actual PPM signal and the SSC for XJT, DSM and MULTI.
To get the XJT protocol working on the internal PPM signal it is necessary to make a PWM peripheral output the required sequence of bits, adjusting the period every bit.
