ERSKYTx (was ersky9x) Questions
Re: ERSKY9x Questions
And to answer your request we need to know what your equipment is, because whether it is possible to go beyond 8 channels depends solely on the RF module it uses.
Re: ERSKY9x Questions
Sorry for that, i am a little bit confused... all the firmware options are being developed at the same time? I thought they were all the same projetc! How can i install the ERSKY without using opentx? Could you help me?

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
Whether you can use the existing Tx module will depend on how it 'talked' to the original mainboard. IF it uses PPM, then you will be able to use it with the AR9X board. If it uses another method, then it is very unlikely to be useable.
As well as the main module output the AR9X includes a second PPM output. You could get 16 channels by using TWO modules, one using this second PPM signal and the other using the main signal. This second PPM output is supported by ersky9x, I don't know if it is supported in openTx.
For ersky9x, which I believe is pre-installed on the AR9X board, you need the PC program eepskye. This is available from http://www.er9x.com/. Download the eepe installer and you will find eepskye.exe is in the install directory along with eepe.exe.

I do apologize, I thought you knew what firmware you wanted, therefore I posted the link to the openTX sub forum as you could get more help about the firmware there.. But I can see that that is not the casekbadra wrote: How can i install the ERSKY without using opentx? Could you help me?

Thanks a lot Mike, now i figured out what it is need to do. The best option to use more than 8 ch should be getting 2 modules? Or a single XJT module combined with a AR9X is enough?MikeB wrote:Whether you can use the existing Tx module will depend on how it 'talked' to the original mainboard. anyway you opened my eyes, ahaha... I am still not used with this "Open World", but I'll try harder to be updated! I've decided to start with my problematic TX.

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
The XJT, which is supported on the AR9X to receive telemetry, will do 16 channels by itself. You may either bind 2 receivers, or make use of the SBUS output of the X8R and X6R to get the 16 channels.

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
Can he install AR9X into his Futaba T8J? the size and the hole and the connectors pins fit?
Re: ERSKY9x Questions
Good point, also note that quite a bit of hacking will be needed for power, switch, gimbal connection etc. The ar9x board is a drop in replacement for the 9x, but on the 8j everything will be a bit different. Screen won't be compatible either so you need a 9x screen and check it fits, etc.

As Kilrah noted it will be a hard work to get it done! but this is the challenge. About the screen they are almost the same size, but i´ll need to know how to connect the ribbon cable

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
There is no guarantee an existing LCD will use the same connections as the AR9X. As an example, the original 9X LCD and the 9XR LCD look the same, with the same ribbon cable, but are actually wired differently.

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
I think you should open a new thread for this futaba mod with the Ar9x board so the information stays all together and it will help others wanting to do the same.. it will be interesting to see how this project develops..
you will have to route every single switch, pots, trims, etc.. Not an easy task.

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
How do I make the GEA switch turn on when the AIL/ELE is greater than 100? And off again when it goes below 100? I am trying to make a "Stagility" mode in my Nano QX. I can't find any resource thing about it.
Re: ERSKY9x Questions
I don't think I understand your question.. You turn the GEAR switch ON and OFF by moving it with your fingers..
Maybe you mean the GEAR channel??

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
Sorry to confuse you. Basically, what I wanted to do is to toggle a channel ON/OFF when the AIL/ELE sticks are greater/less than x value. I wanted to simulate the stagility mode ( stable + agility mode of my quad) to "cheat" the quad when I make flips. You can only make flips/tricks on this quad when you are in agility mode (Acro) but it's hard to recover. I wanted to make the trick in such a way that when you put your AIL/ELE stick up it activates the agility mode, and when you release the stick, it goes back to stability mode and auto-level itself.
Re: ERSKY9x Questions
Ok let's say your GEAR channel is CH5.
First you have to detect the sticks movements using some logical switches.
L1 v>val Ele 98 (use a bit less than 100%)
L2 v>val Ail 98
L3 OR L1 L3 ( this means L3 will turn ON if either or both sticks are above 98%.)
Use L3 on your GEAR channel
CH5 100% FULL (Switch ) L3
Note - I you have an older version of the firmware the logical switches might still be called Custom switches and show as SW1, SW2, etc..
João
EDIT: I have just noticed, did you want the channel to also turn ON when the sticks are below -100%? That would make sense.. If so, give me a sec..

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
Hi João,
a problem would be that the Nano QX is switched between 'agility' and 'stable'
by a toggle (momentary) switch (e.g. the trainer switch) on Channel 6.
And therefore if the Nano QX misses a switch transition he will get into trouble ...

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
As far as I understand he needs a low-high-low transition when the stick value reaches a threshold
to activate agility mode (and make e.g. a flip possible)
and another low-high-low transition when stick value then gets lower than the threshold
to enter stability mode

-100 is on 0.2 and 100 on 0.3 to achieve the "trn switch effect" but stays in 0 or 1 position.
Tx programming is freaking awesome! I am enjoying it.
Thanks! I will try it. The -100% makes sense, for reverse flips and rolls.jhsa wrote:Ok let's say your GEAR channel is CH5.

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
I'm not very familiar with all this new switch options but here is what I would try:
L2 gives a peak of 0.2 sec when L1 goes active
L3 gives a peak of 0.2 sec when L1 goes inactive
L4 combines L2 and L3
Same with L5 to L9 but ele
LB combines L4 and L9
So use LB for toggling channel 6:
CH6 100%FULL Switch(LB)
A lot of switches, but transparent (I hope).

And don't forget: 100% spektrum equals to 80% erSKY9x.
So the limits should be set to +/- 80 except throttle low (for arming): Klaus

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
Ok, prepare yourself
L1 |v|>val Ele 98 (use a bit less than 100%)
L2 |v|>val Ail 98
L3 OR L1 L3 ( this means L3 will turn ON if either or both sticks are above 98%.)
L4 1-shot L3 1.3 (This logical switch will pulse for 1.3 seconds when L3 is ON. That means will go ON for 1.3 sec. and then OFF again. Cool?
Now lets create a little timer using an unused channel
CH9 100% FULL Switch (L4) Slow (u1:d0) (When L4 is on (for 1.3s), this channel will take 1 full second to move from -100 to +100, and then back to -100 immediately when L4 turns OFF. Note the "Slow" function.
L5 v>val CH9 90 (Here we detect when CH9 is above 90. This logical switch will turn ON, when that happens)
L6 1-shot L3 0.3 (This L.switch will pulse for 0.6 seconds when L3 is ON, That means, when the sticks go over the defined values.)
L7 OR L5 L6 (switch will turn ON when either L5 or L6 are ON
Use L7 on your GEAR channel
CH5 100% FULL Switch (L7)
The above will create 2 consecutive pulses on CH5. That means, when the sticks go over +/-98% Channel 5 will pulse to full (+100%) once, wait about a second and pulse again.
I'm sure someone will come up with a better way of doing this Mike?
Try it in eepskye first, not on your model..

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
Tested it (my solution) on the bench with my Nano QX and worked OK so far (no flight test!!!).
But to be able to change stabilty mode manually (with trainer switch) I would recommend to add
+R 100%Full Switch(TRN)
to channel 6 ...
Note the replace option!
