Helicopter setup via the template

Post by gohsthb »

Here is how to set up a heli via the template from the templates menu. The guide was written while setting up a Trex 450 but other helis should be similar.

An eepm file for those who want it already setup.

I changed a couple of things from my tutorial:
1. For the mixes on CH11. I now do one mix as ID0 and the other as !ID0. This saves one mix as the idle up modes use the same curve.
2. the force zero pitch mix now uses 0% FULL instead of an empty curve. Again this saves a small bit of space, and no need to worry about picking a used curve.

Update: I updated the template for the current versions of eepe(r362) and companion9x(v1.17). The one named hk450_r362.eepe is for Eepe r362. And the one named hk450_v1.17.eepe, is for companion9x v1.17.
Both templates now use a Futaba channel order, and you will need to set your servo and swash directions.

Can anyone explain to me what is happening on Channel 14 and how we would adjust the gyro with this? I have the HK Clone of the Futaba GY401..

Channel 14 is the mixes that make the sticky throttle cut work.
To adjust the gyro gain, use the limits for channel 5. You will need to check the manual for your gyro to determine which mode it is in (rate or HH) for the 2 switch positions. If you want the modes switch, then simply reverse channel 5. To adjust the piro rate you can use the dual rate menu to set a lower rate.

Hi there,

Im just trying to configure several Helis on my new taranis.
The companion presets are working fine so far, but there is one topic, i coldnt find a solution yet:
The roll servos seem to run only half the way of the pitch servo, which leads to an impact on collective. Is there a way to modify the cyc functions?

regards

Hi gohsthb just about finished building the 450 clone and trying to sort out the the controls, cyclic all working fine rudder and throttle ok but how do I get the collective pitch must be something in the er9x that I haven't done
For safety whilst doing all this I am running with a receiver battery and a spare servo as the esc
Any help please

Pitch is controlled from channel 11. If you followed my guide then you also have the ELE switch set up so it holds the pitch at 0. I would start checking there first.

Have you followed the tutorial from the first post. In there it explains how to set the pitch ranges and everything else?
