Mixing elevator to left and right aileron

I'm stumped. I'm new to Frsky Opentx programming. I need help on programming elevator to left and right ailerons. I fly IMAC and I bought a Horus X12S transmitter and had it upgraded with the Opentx programming. I also am not sure about how to program a ignition switch on an off. Should it be done using a curve?

I'm guessing you want up elevator when applying Aileron?
If so, then yes, it is done with a curve you will need to apply a new mix with a curve to the elevator channel..
You will need a positive curve on both sides of the stick travel, so the elevator move up when you turn left or right..
Try it in companion and simulate it :)

I'm trying to program totally on my Horus x12s open tx. and using the monitor to check my programming. That way I can make changes out at the flying site if need be. I have not used companion. Is this something I need to use?
I think I understand what your saying on the curve mix I'll give that a try.
I'm new to this web page. Thanks. I'm sure I'll have more questions.

Even if you want to do all programming on your Tx, using Companion with its simulator to see if what you think needs to be done has the correct effect is easier for many. Since it only costs a little time to download and install, I suggest trying it.
And what Jaao said is one way of doing it.

Another way is to add Mix to the elevator channel that says
+= Ail Weight(15) Function(|x|) AilCor

As far as I know |x| is a curve?? ;)

|x|is the absolute value of the source, Ail.
So basically no matter which way you move ail, you get a positive value.
It acts likes a 'curve' of 3 values, y = +100, 0, +100.

Ok, I've downloaded companion, am going to set up a test plane. Can you tell me how to save my profile so I can continue to test set ups. This is a dumb question I'm sure. Like I said I'm new to this style radio programing. And I appreciate all the help I can get. I was unable to find a save profile.

Jhsa, would you add the mix under the aileron or elevator?

Rdenchurch, how do you get this format of programing.
+= Ail Weight(15) Function(|x|) AilCor
I'm not sure how to do this.

Just go to Settings then in its drop down menu there is another Settings click on that and fill in the menu.
Be sure to look at all 3 tabs for something you want or don not want.

then click on OK.
In my case I have to close Companion and restart it to see the new profile.
I'm using Companion 2.2.3 on Win10.

In Companion right click on the line in the Mix for Elv
Just 'Add' a second Mix to the Elv Mix.

AilCor is the Name (not required)
Source is Ail (Ix:Ail if you are using Inputs for multiple rates)
Weights 15 (adjust to your needs)

The tricky one is Curve has a drop down box to select Func(tion)
Include trim...your preference

If you only want the AilCor in certain situations you could select a switch and position to activate under Switch.
for Multiplex I just left it as Add
Click OK and look at the added mix under the first Elv entry.

For some reason I'm not able to add a image to my posts. I get a Status of
"Error The image file you tried to attach is invalid."

That works on the mix I think. So, just in case I'm going to to loose this program I have so far. I'm going to hand program it to my test plan in the transmitter so I can remember how I did this. Each time I go out of companion it says failure to save. So I'm going to try what you suggested.

Failure to save is not a message I've seen. Are you sure that is the exact wording?

Click on the File tab then Save As in the drop down menu.
then get pointed to a Folder and add a name to save it with.

But doing it on the Tx makes sure you could modify it at the flying field....
most likely change is to the weight for the AilCor mix.

What version of Companion are using? In Companion click on the Help tab then About.
What version of OpenTx firmware are you using?

Companion version and firmware, OpenTx, version should match.
Not always absolutely necessary, but a very old Comapnion with a very new OpenTX or vice versa will definitely cause problems
