Lol, im from Brazil, sorry my english. I will try again!!!

In arduino, pins A0 ... A3, D8, D7 and D2 already have utility? Any updates in 2017?

We speak the same language then, Portuguese :) But we need to speak English here so everybody understand :)

A0 to A3 and D2 are not used. D7 and D8 can be used for 2 extra switches or push buttons.. Please see the schematics on the first post of this thread..

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6831

No more updates to this.. It is good as it is and not so many people using it anymore. I believe that most of us upgraded our 9x radios with a better board like the Ar9x board or the 9xtreme board (not sold anymore) That already bring the voice/audio circuitry on the board..

Just wanted to know if Arduvoice evolved into more external buttons. I think of buying an AR9 X in the future. Thanks for answering.

ArduVoice supports 2 extra buttons as I said above. D7 and D8.. :)

Hi guys! I have the same issue then i try to start Serial SD functions as in the Posts: 1378.
PC Display shows:
Monitor
xx|xx|
xx|xx|xx|

where the "x" is an empty square box sign for an unprintable character
List mode does not work.

the other functions are OK. Does sombodie know what is the reason of the problem?

Perhaps, I am ready to answer my own question. Since I used arduino nano, it was necessary to disconnect DTR pin of CH340 from reset cerquit. For this it is necessary to desolder the capacitor between pin13 CH340 and pin 28 ATMEGA328. Maybe someone will find this information useful.

Hi !!!

For the external and tri-band buttons, do you need to solder pull-up resistors or can you connect directly, just grounding the signal so the arduino recognizes the command?

Para os botões externos e trins, precisa de soldar resistores de pull up ou pode-se conectar direto, apenas aterrando o sinal para que o arduino reconheça o comando?

Não precisa de pullups. Só ligar o botão ao pino e ao GND. :)

No need for pullups. Just connect the buttons between the pins and ground..

I have seen your message. Unfortunately it is very difficult for me at the moment to look at all your data as I have quite limited internet access where I am and I am also quite busy. You know, family and all that :)
I will have a look in a few days, or even before if I can.

I'm asking Mike for help, when I put the ATMEGA328 back to the Arduino, everything can be written and read, but when I put it on my board, I can only write the bootloader(sometimes).

Strange that everything seemed to work at first, but stopped working.

I think I used 5V on mine, but also a SD Card module that can work at that voltage.
I believe Mike adapted the serial code to 12Mhz as well as 16Mhz.
If you are using the old board design that was used for the parallel voice module, you want to use the 12Mhz version, and 3.3V. Otherwise you might damage the SD Card..

I just used 3.3V with 16MHz.
I think I will keep the 16MHz crystal with power at 5V and use a logic converter from 5V to 3.3V only for the SD card.
I'm asking Mike for the serial version of 12MHz and 8Mhz. I do not think it will be too slow at 8MHz.
Tks !!

I've never built a version to run at 8MHz. Are you able to build the firmware from the sources? You may find the sources here: https://github.com/MikeBland/mbtx/tree/master/amod.

A built 12MHz file is here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4598#p64969, in amod_last.zip.

The micro SD Card module was not recognizing all the cards, I made this little mod, and started reading all my cards that were in trouble.

Hello,
I wanted to install an arduvoice and everything seems to work (flashing bootloader).
I have installed 1N4001 diodes instead of the bat85 because I only had those and I thought it's worth a try.
I couldn't flash firmware using the diodes. After that I removed them and the only thing I got was magic smoke.
As you can see on the on the picture a trace on the power switch board burnt out. I don't know what happens . Is it because of the missing diodes or did I put my arduvoice power connections to the wrong place (you can see the wires on the photo ).
The arduvoice modul and the radio main board still seem to work.

hey guys.. i have a th-9x, vibe mod, piezo mod, backlight done, dsmx internal module mod
trainer and throttle cut switch swap so its like spektrum, as im a spektrum flyer..
open tx installed, my question..
i would like voice, but i dont have a pro mini, i have a uno r3 with a sd card shield tho..
could this work?

I doubt it, serial mode is only supported by Er9x as far as I know..

The uno would probably work, never tested it though. But it is quite big.
You can get very cheap arduino pro mini clones on eBay..

Hi I was wondering if the board looks ok to anyone? ----- https://oshpark.com/shared_projects/ZFFMBWpj

They still sell it.
I came across this last night.
3 of them for $4.20
It doesn't include any parts - just a fyi
I will have to try and get all the parts for it from China they are so much cheaper but it will be like 1-2 months before I see them lol

The link on that project is for the serial voice module.. OpenTX DOES NOT SUPPORT serial voice module..
The PCB is for a parallel voice module as far as i understand. Which firmware do you use? openTX or Er9x?
Er9x supports the arduvoice module, openTX doesn't.

It should also work with er9x, but it is not an ArduVoice, it is a Megasound board which is parallel. It could probably be modified to work as serial.. I don't have the board though so I don't know the schematic for it..

Hi João,

I have been reading through all the posts here and planned to build your 2 board design but see there's a single board design.
Which is easier to fit in a 9X? I'm guessing the 2 board design is.
Do you have a photo of the back of the single board build & what size is it? ( I see the photo of the front of the board on page 1 here ).
I may have to order a bigger stripboard if I go with the single board. I think I ordered (2) 5cmx7cm boards only.

I want to be 100% sure of all the cuts in the circuits.
I ordered everything new I don't have from eBay.

One other question what is the value/resistance on the shunts if there is any?
