What do you think? Could you loop your model like that without the cup falling Earthwards? Fast forward flight without any method of securing the cup from the blast of air or the vibrations of the motors trying to get rid of it?

Have a go and let us know. :)

I would think with a rubber lady bug cover that may have enough friction for fast forward fly possible (in the vid the spd is not very fast for the air flow to blow off the cup). if you look at the cup of water at close up when the cup is placed by hand on the bug, there is almost zero water vibration. that is a perfectly balanced and tuned quad. BUT, the flip I am not sure. with computer programed control, it may be possible, like the group of micro quads flying formation by some tech institute on youtube, , but by hand control, I don't think that can be done.

Look at the video.. there are too many scene changes where they shouldn't be..

But if you think that is amazing, then watch this.. Oh, and he does it with the engines off ;)

Forward flight should be possible because of the way a quad flies, with the whole machine tipped in the direction of flight.

Flips likewise, as the quad does not rotate on its own axis, but does a very tight loop with positive G all the way.

By the way, I helped organize the Abbotsford Airshow in the 1960s and we had Bob Hoover there for a couple of years. He did his standard routine, including engine-off loops and rolls and a dead stick landing, rolling to a stop in front of the crowd, in three different aircraft: Shrike Commander twin, P-38 and P-51. The most precise flying I have ever seen.

May be some one with video analyzer can tell whether the video, or part of, is artificially composed. If not, it is amazing!

do you have suggestion for water proofing control board for the quad? yep, i need waterproofing for waterlooping.

you think there is any chance the water will be staying in the cup on this quad:

I think if I put a wet towel on that quad, it will be dry after fly.

For a short test. I would suggest Clingfilm.
