OpenTX - Nightly builds for pre-2.0 testing

openTx has introduced a range of new features, ideas and bling. It is fast becoming the firmware of choice for many users. openTx will run on ALL current hardware platforms, including the gruvin9x and sky9x boards. Work has already started to support the new FrSky X9D radio!

For the general user getting help in RCG I've started a new thread there. I'll refer questions which may be developmental issues to this thread.

Hi!
I do not appear on the radio telemetry screen (press and hold the "page" button).

Frissítetrtem the 1.99 software was good.
After him the 1.99.1-2.0.0 no longer good.
I tried everything but could not display the display telemetia
You may delete the memory of the remote control? (reset operation)

The Italian contributor who was taking care of it hasn't been available for many months now, so the translations haven't been updated.
Romolo is back, he was really busy with work these last months, that's good news!
He promised to me that he would review your translations Michele (Romolo is the key contributor of Companion, but you know him I am sure)

Is this the place for V2.0 questions?
I've upgraded now I've been prompted by companion9X. All went extremely well. Many thanks.

Question now though, using X series Rx's - Rx volts used to be reported as A1 Volts. Now though, after eepe conversion, I'm having to set A1 to unused and put in new Rx volts alarm levels. If I test the alarm, it's just a single beep, where before I got words such as "A1 Voltage critical"

You need to load the new voice files too, there are new ones for that.

Well that would explain the lack of nightly beta builds :)
Congratulations to all the devs and contributors and a big thankyou from me.

Cheers

OK thanks, I'll find them.

So it's expected that I'll need to switch the alarm settings from A1 to Rx Volts? That's fine.

I read a report that the play button in the custom functions screen is working in Linux. It is not working in Windows so far as I can tell. Can you shed some light on this?

Update to 2.0 successfully!
I had to rename some of my Soundfiles.
There are only 8 characters for the names possible! (previously 10)

Many thanks to all involved

Whoa! Really -- you can hear the track play when you use the blue play button after select Play Track with CompanionTX?? You are using Windows? I've got 7 64 bit on all three machines I use throughout the day and there is no sound on any of them from CompanionTx.
Is your SD Structure Path set to a location off the transmitter - or is yours set to the microSD card? Mine is set to a local clone of the SD card.

All my sounds work otherwise in the transmitter. I'd feel like odd man out - but my perception is this is the rule not the exception.

So far it seems only Linux versions do this. It was reported here it might have been possible in previous Win versions, but Microsoft removed the capabilities in Win 7 or 8.

Yep, Win7 64, and structure is a local copy.

Version 2 Installation

Post by Dthomson39 »

Hi - Great job done by the team (at least I think its a team). I thought I should report a small issue with upgrading which some people (me) might get confused by. I was attempting to use 1.52 to upgrade the firmware only to find that 1.52 could not be used to locate version 2.0 of the Firmware. On installing the new version of Companion I could use that to download the new firmware but not to install it on the TX so back to 1.52 to do that. Once done everything else was fine. I may have missed a step but it would be easier to list the firmware file in the list of available downloads then the steps are easy...... unless I missed something that is.

You should have no problem writing using 2.0. What errors did you have?

Seems to work fine here. Joystick seems to be useless as it jumps around in the simu though. This probably hasn't been used by anyone in a long time...

No. Looks like corruption of the graphics memory. That is bad. Does the gray field stay in place if you switch screen by pressing e.g. the page button ?

You also might want to check connections and solder joints for the screen. can't tell if it's the exact same but looks similar to what I have seen on some flatscreen monitors I have repaired. If you're lucky it's a loose connection or a bad solder joint.

Do you have this problem also on the splash screen and then on all screens until shutdown?
