Configuration of 5 Mode Select Switch for Ardupilot

I just wanted to share something was just figured out and would think it useful for those that have done the Rotary Switch Modification to T9X and are using ER9x or OpenTx.
The problem that was at hand was when you switched from Mode 1 to Mode 5 on the Rotary Encoder it would sound off all the Modes from Pos1 to Pos5.
That was a pain to hear all the time if you wanted to jump from Stabilize to Auto.

Anyway, with the help of MikeB, I was able to come up with the solution. The following are the configuration settings in OpenTX
CHO5 is the Ardupilot Mode Channel
P3 is the Rotary Switch Location
Flight Modes are used for display purposes on the Radio LCD

Mixes
CH05 (+100%)CH05
R (+100%)P3 Switch(!CS6) Delay(u0.5:d0.5)

Custom Switches
CS1 CH05 > -75
CS2 (CH05 < -25 ) AND CS1
CS3 |CH05| < 25
CS4 CH05 < 75
CS5 (CH05 > 25 ) AND CS4
CS6 P3 = CH05

Function Switches
!CS1 Play Track Stable
CS2 Play Track Loiter
CS3 Play Track Alt Hold
CS5 Play Track RTL
!CS4 Play Track Auto

Flight Modes
FM0 Auto ----
FM1 AltHld CS2
FM2 LTR CS3
FM3 RTL CS5
FM4 Stable CS4

I wish I knew how to do this. Do you have any info where I can do these mods? And where did you get the rotary switch and what pads did you put them on?

Hi Daniel, its not that difficult.. but there are many threads on this forum that speak to this.. just do a search as I don't have them handy at the moment.. but if i get a chance I will try to point you to them... but start at the topic level of the forum and look into the Mods section for Hardware. I think the Wiki has a great list to start from.
