Can you display text on main screen?

I've searched and haven't found an answer to a question I've had for a while - is it possible to output text onto the main screen from a Custom Function or something similar? I know the name of the Flight Mode will be displayed, but there are only 4 of those and it seems kind of convoluted. I'm hoping to display current switch settings for a multicopter FC's modes.

Lua scripts will be able to draw on the screen, however that's not for stock board.

We should ask for an on display feature.

So when you use a switch you can hear the sound assigned and also visually check it, like on the Spectrum DX18, love that about the DX, give it to us for the radio and Spectrum has nothing we don't have

A little bit of text can be written, only a few characters though.
Use flight mode names for the text.

On my models that do not use flight modes, I put my name for fm1, my phone number in FM2, AMA number in FM3
Then switch flight modes using a switch

Yea but it's only limited to 7 character's, we should ask for more why not 16 ??

Hello, just wanted to chime in here and say that I have had no problems with the FP in ER9x or OpenTx on my 9X to show Flight Modes for my APM(copter)
I have a 5/6 Pos Switch set at dif PPM values on CH5 and via CSwitches/FP/VSwitches you can achieve all that you ask.
Perhaps you knew all that and was just looking for some more capability.. if not, happy to point you to that solution.

No, 6. And read my post. The reason is that there's only space for those 6 characters.
