PARA trainer in Horus X10/S Express / OTX 2.3.1

openTx has introduced a range of new features, ideas and bling. It is fast becoming the firmware of choice for many users. openTx will run on ALL current hardware platforms, including the gruvin9x and sky9x boards. Work has already started to support the new FrSky X9D radio!

PARA trainer in Horus X10/S Express / OTX 2.3.1

Post by rcyoda »

Hi, is new PARA bluetooth already fully supported in OpenTX 2.3.1 running on Horus X10/S Express?

In Radio / Hardware I select "Bluetooth: Trainer" and then in model config "Trainer Mode: Master/Bluetooth". Problem is that when I select Discover it is like nothing is happening at all... seems the radio is not even trying to scan for bluetooth devices.

Any idea how to fix that? or is it simply not supported yet?

It works, but only with other PARA radios.

As I'm working on supporting PARA trainer in erskyTx, I have found a FrSky radio with PARA trainer will discover a CC-41, bluetooth module (HM-10 clone), and I have managed to get a 9XR-PRO, with a CC-41, sending correct trainer data to a PARA radio that is then showing on the trainer menu.
The CC-41 doesn't discover the PARA radio however.

I have X10S Express and X9DP SE 2019, so both PARA.

What I have noticed though is that X10 is not showing Local Address in radio setup (and there is no place for Remote Address as well).

Seems like my X10 is having hw issue with contacting PARA module. Do I read "the signs" correctly?

There's been a fix for the X10e that will be in 2.3.2 it seems. https://github.com/opentx/opentx/issues/6910

Thanks Kilrah - It seems it is exactly it!

I was just about to write that I put FrOS back to X10S and PARA module was working perfectly and I was able to use the trainer. So it must be a bug in OpenTX 2.3.1. Looking forward to get it solved in 2.3.2 - hopefully soon :).

Ah, OK - thought if it's not on the list it won't be implemented in this particular release. All good, thx again.
