SKY9x Introduction

Post by SkyNorth »

Here is the Rev 3.0 Version of the SKY9x Upgrade Board
This is the Final design , that has been sent out for Fabrication.
SKY9x_Rev_3_Doc.JPG
I have ordered 125 boards .... and about 80 are spoken for so far...

The boards are due in two weeks , then off to the SMT assembly house...
If all goes well , I hope to start shipping them by the end of November.

The schottky diode are being changed , the leakage is too high on the MBRX140

Is D9 the one to stop the coin cell from discharging to fast? What diodes should be changed and what's a good retrofit replacement. SMD or otherwise?

The diodes on the Co-processor , are going to be changed to
BAT42W types , these have a leakage in the order of 500nA where as the MBRX140s' leakage is 300uA
This is almost 1000 times lower....

The higher the current rating , the more leakage it seams...

The BAT42W are rated at 200mA , which is more than enough for the task at hand.

Is it possible to retrofit the BAT42W to VerB board without other changes?

Also how many do we want to change out. 2 for sure if only the 2032 battery is used?

I would wait and see how long the battery lasts now , before changing them.
The diodes are the same foot print , so they will fit.

Thanks Brent.
I'll do that for both boards and report the time they last.
