Frsky X Series "Hack" module

Post by aesmith »

Hi,

I know that Frsky don't make an X series hack module, there's no XHT. However I wondered whether anyone had taken an XJT to bits and used it in that way. I'd be interested in how it worked out.

It should work if it will fit. The pins inside the module bay are accessible from the internal pads. Don't know why anyone would do that unless fitting a 9Xtreme board to handle the telemetry side of things.
But then once a 9Xtreme board is installed the XJT works like a dream direct from the external module bay it is designed for.

Because someone might want frsky as their main system and use also other protocols externally. Like for example a DSM/DSMX module for BNF stuff, or even the DIY multiprotocol module for controlling lots of models.
That is what I'm doing with my 9x with Ar9x board at the moment.. it could be easily done with the 9xtreme as well.

That's my reason, I use Frsky for aircraft, then I have a DSM module and a Flysky one for indoor/parkfly models (where full range an proper antenna isn't needed). I like to minimise module plugging, so prefer my main system to be hard-wired.

Also you could use two D-Series module (internal and external) to be able to use two D-Series receivers to have 16 channels if needed.
Here shows two XJT modules in a 9Xtreme radio: (viewtopic.php?f=126&t=8226).
