FlySky ER9X/eepe Parameter Transfer?

Post by Cburg »

Dear Group,

I have installed the ER9X firmware, and want to transfer a complete set of parameters from one radio to another.

I found the "Read Memory from Tx" button, but when I hit it I get errors:

avrdude.exe: warning: cannot set sck period. please check for usbasp firmware update.

avrdude.exe: error: programm enable: target doesn't answer. 1

avrdude.exe: initialization failed, rc=-1

Double check connections and try again, or use -F to override

this check.

What do I need to do?

Thanks!

Mike

Well. For a start DO NOT USE THE -F OPTION. It can brick your radio. Now, what programmer do you have? The SCK error makes me think you have a usbasp programmer. Did it ever work? What radio are you trying to read? Did you ever read or flash this radio successfully?

You may safely ignore the "cannot set sck period." message.
And in addition, it says, that AVRdude correctly recognizes your programmer.

But obviously the programmer can't correctly talk to the processor.
So really carefully check the connections between programmer and processor.
You may upload some high resolution pictures from the connections between the programmer and the processor.
Some of the programmers may have a signal on one pin that normally is stated as ground

And, as Joao said, NEVER use the -F option of AVRDude.

Please make shure you don't use pins 4 or 6 of the USBASP for ground as other images show:

To be on the safe side use pin 8 or 10 for ground!

Hi Group!
Thanks for the replys.
I have successfully flashed the firmware with this USB programmer: USBasp USBISP AVR 10 Pin USB Programmer 3.3V/5V 51 ATMEGA8 w/ Cable & adapter
The firmware and radio are working fine
It is wired as per above 6 Pin diagram.
Thanks guys!

Did you flash using eepe, but still can't read back the model memory?

If you used the USBASP to flash er9x, then it should work to read the EEPROM as it is making exactly the same connections.
At this point I can only suggest checking all wiring and connections are correct and nothing has become disconnected since flashing er9x.
