Eflite Edge 540 QQ won't bind to Turnigy 9x w/dx4e module

I plugged in a TGY-D1290P servo and then my Edge was not bound to my Tx (Turnigy 9xw/dx4e module running er9x firmware). This is after a crash that took out a servo. When I try to re-bind the LED stops flashing but then goes out instead of going solid and not binding. However, the Edge binds and works just fine with my Dx4e. The Turnigy 9x has no problems with any other DSM2/DSMX receivers (Blade micro helis, 130x, 300x, Spektrum & Orange receivers, UMX CC & T-28 etc.) This one has me stumped. I have tried re-binding to the 9x many times both close and far from the receiver. However it has bound to the Dx4e the first time every single time. Before the crash, plane never had a problem binding with the 9x. Yes I have tried both the DSM2 only and the DSM2/DSMX settings in the er9x firmware. I also have tried setting up a brand new model in the memory of the Tx.
