Adding colour to text

A few weeks ago we could add colour to the text,
now with the new version of the text editing tool
we can do it anymore or i haven't found a way.

It was a great highliting feature, very useful for
emphasizing on key parts of a text.

Maybe this can get you by until the admin decides to ?reinstate? the graphical icon for color tags. You can manually wrap your text in the 'color' bbcode

The reason I took the option off the menu is actually to try limit the amount of custom colouring that is done.

If it is too easy to colourise the text. Everyone does it. Result... The posts look like Christmas trees, and are hard to read.

And while you are at it you could also put the option to choose the size of the letters.. maybe is there and I can't find it??

I hadn't noticed the color tag being abused. Tried to search for uses of the tag but failed. Could ask for examples but that would end up singling out the offending party(s/y/ies/). Personally, I'd have the feature available but feel more strongly that the admin of the board should get the final say on this one. The tag still works manually if you really need it. Sorry couldnt help myself.

My vote goes for the admin. Leave editing gui as is. Remove my posts in this thread if you desire to obfuscate the feature. Heck, disable the feature if you really feel strong about it. What's the fun of being the Admin if you dont have any control over the visual presentation of the website ?

I find it handy if there is a long post and you want to quote part of it rather than fill space with the whole post with the copy and paste...

But it's not a big deal as you can use italics as long as you remember to turn it off before you type your reply...

Then you can say pretty much everything you want! Only problem is that you need to check first which of the backgrounds your post will have, lol

No, I typed it normally, and the fun thing is that there is forum code (and a button in the editor for it) to reverse text direction

i thought it was a snippet of errant code that snuck out after a few gins, but then I realised what had happened.

Just mind you don't get the PC brigade from other parts of the world trying to insist we do it their way all the time.
