Settings not writing back to radio

Post by Elst » Tue Jul 28, 2015 2:31 pm

Hi, I've been having multiple issues with the Companion application while using it with my 9XR Pro. I'm using 2.1 latest nightly on Windows 8.1.

Initially I was getting errors while trying to save back to the radio; some problem with temporary files. I've downloaded the latest 2.1 nightly and I am no longer seeing any errors writing settings back; however it still doesn't work. It'll read the settings correctly and let me make changes.
When I write the settings back it all appears to work okay. If I leave the radio in bootloader mode it even appears to re-read the settings keeping the changes I have made. This lasts until I boot the radio. Once booted I can see that none of the settings have saved. I've tried updating the bootloader (now 1.5), running the program as admin etc.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Edit 1: This seems to be a problem with the 2.1 firmware. I've had chance to downgrade to 2.0.17 and the settings are saving correctly. Another issue I noticed is that the sounds played under 2.1 are all garbled; yet with 2.0 the play fine.

Edit 2: I've found the GitHub issue tracker and there's a report there already for this problem. Although not one that I can see for the poor sound quality.
