Could C9x be Coded as a Chrome App?

Post by econoline »

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm thinking out loud while waiting for C9x v2.0 to become available as a Mac binary. Right now it's just win and linux for v2.0.

Would it be possible to port Companion9x to run as a Chrome browser application like "openLRSng - Configurator" ? I know this would take some work but only one version of Companion would be required instead of the multi-platform support that we need now.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

Anything can be done, but it would pretty much be an entire rewrite from scratch. Different language, completely different UI system, etc.

If you've got about a year to devote to it, go ahead... we're happy to put a lot of time in the project for it to go forward, but not so much to spend months to redo something we already have :)
