Companion User Interface testings

Post by davx »

Hi,

I didn't like the UI look on my XP machine so I've been trying some graphical ideas with QT Style Sheets and I think it could be interesting.
The look is pretty close between different operating systems as you can see with the Input Edit window in the image attached.

I'd like to know what you think about it guys ;)

It's nice!
Would you add some sort of skins choice in companion?

Thanks Bertrand !

I'd like to do that but I'm afraid not having the skills... I've just played with QT Creator.

Perhaps with some (lot) help.

And I have other ideas for the UI but it will take me more time to show.

Wow, I really like the updated look of your new screens. Keep up the work. It will be really worth it once it gets implemented.

Many users use computers that have a limited vertical screen height. I think you will find the companion screens have been deliberately kept 'short' vertically for this reason. Some small laptops have a screen helght of only 600 pixels, so it is worth keeping that in mind when re-designing the screen images.

I like this new screen! Mike is right, we have to take care of the screen height, we have had a lot of issues on this in the past, and it seems now ok.

Hi,

Thanks for your comments !

At first, I tried a more horizontal layout but I found the successive "label+input field" really difficult to read on the same line, that's why I choose to make some kind of vertical blocks.

Indeed, tall panels could be a problem on little screens so why not a scrollbar ;)

With the scrollbar it's perfect!

Mike, that's what's needed in eepe/eepskye ;) a scrollbar. .
