FrSky Module vs FrSky Mod

I use my 9x with an FrSky module.
In choosing which firmware version to use, is this the same as "you have modified your radio to receive frsky telemetry" as described in the wiki?

Just trying to choose between the stock er9x firmware or the ER9x-FRSKY.

If your module is a telemetry capable module like the DJT or DHT and you want the telemetry to be displayed on the tx's LCD then you will have to mod the radio as per the wiki. this require some fine soldering to the CPU pins. Another option would be to wait for the TelemetrEZ board to become available. It will be nearly solderless. At least no fine soldering. You then flash the radio with the er9x_FrSky version of the firmware.
If you don't need the on screen telemetry then the er9x version of firmware will be ok for you. You will still have the RSSI alarms from the module..

No need for soldering or any other add on board. It also let's you use the DJT or telemetry module you have be used with other radios and still be able to see the data.

Or ERsky board. just plugin, no soldering at all.
