Telling the difference between custom firmwares

How to tell the difference between every of these custom firmwares listed on this forum? How do you tell which one to choose?

If you have the stock board, you can use:

er9x & open9x

If you have a sky9x board, you can use:

ersky9x or open9x

If you have a gruvin board, you can use:

open9x

Now.. which one you use is really up to personal choice.

I am an open9x fan. I love the flight mode features and the way the telemetry system/function work. Others would tell you the complete opposite!

Bottom line. Try both

Is open 9x near the point that it can access the SD card for backup /load eeprom file on sky9x board?
All the telemetry voice function properly in open9x now?

I may want to give open9x a try then. Since now I can back up the ersky9x eeprom file without any problem.
oh, can you import the ersky9x eeprom file to open9x (for basic stuff) and use it right off? that would be even better, saving some reprogram time.

as for "Unless you create an issue", that is not hard to do at all. I can do that as fast as you can write a post.

I do like the project "issues" tab for keeping track of problems. It's easier to quickly see what needs to be fixed before next release. Conversion from ersky9x EEPROM to open9x should work inside companion9x. Keep us informed in case of problem.
