Throttle mod

Post by cre8tiveleo »

I'm a plane guy, I like the Throttle to have the gear motion (nice ratchet sound). (I don't fly heli's much, and I have other 9x radios that aren't throttle modded if I ever need them)

So this is what I did... real easy... (yes it's been over done too)

Remove the metal band that applies pressure to the throttle..

Just remove both screws... and lift off...

Now with a pair of needle nose pliers bend a notch 'V' shape into the metal band...

Takes two hands so no pictures of this part...

Here it is back on the radio...

You can adjust the amount of 'Grip' it has by adjusting this screw. Up - less grip, Down - more grip.

Enjoy

and a little video of the ratcheting ...

I tried your mod out, and unfortunately broke the little Al bugger.
I had another one and decided to try my own method.... works pretty well

Find the smallest pin/needle you have, cut it to width of the tightening mechanism.

CA.

Adjust tension as in above posts.
