Another forum name change

Post by Rob Thomson »

Right...

to avoid confustion caused by the timing of open9x and the forum changing the name at the same time... I am changing the forum name.

new domain will be:

openrcforums.com

Should be live in 20 or so minutes!

OK, I tried several times last night and it didn't work, while it did this morning without trouble. Probably they just needed a bit of time on their side...

It takes longer for him to do the changes than for us to login, I guess ;)
I think it is a minor problem.. :)

P.S. - I think we should change the forum's name every month..
Was going to say every week but maybe it's a bit too much..

Tsk! Now don't go throwing your toys out of the pram. You know that isn't a nice thing to do.

Excellent idea!

Only issue will be a new domain registration every month

I like to think of the forum name change scheme - being one to test end users technical abilities.

I do like the name OpenRC.. we also have other projects like the openXvario, or the solar battery charging station, the bench power safety switch, the servo tester, etc.
So I think this name suits the forum better.. And the opentx name suits more the firmware that is now supporting more radios, and probably still more to come.. Maybe even Futaba decides to make an opensource radio, who knows.. :o they would only win with that.. ;)

Yeah but it still accepts the IP as input, and then corrects it to the name...
So basically it's a backwards DNS, normally we use names to resolve potentially changing IPs, here we use the IP to resolve the constantly changing name :P
