I can't comment on the battery fitting but someone will so be patient.
I will comment on battery plugs and the 9x TXs. The connector is a 3 pin male pins with - on both sides, and + on the middle. If you use a servo type battery cable with 3 pins your ok. If you use a 2 pin FM and plug sooner or later you'll plug it in off center and burn up you 9x board. I've repaired many boards for club members that were never going to do that. They even labeled the connector but did it anyway!
Make an adapter out of the dry pack 3pin connector or get the correct 3 pin, or some other fool prof polarized plug setup and you you won't be sorry later.
