Help testing eePe

Post by erazz »

Hi Guys,

I have a new version of eePe ready and it has some substantial changes behind the scenes.
I don't want to put it out before I know it doesn't mess up peoples models.

The big change is moving towards an XML based save system.
It has some potential advantages, and would enable me to finally add the comments.
Since it's new it also has the potential to mess stuff up - hence the test.

The experimental version can be downloaded here:
http://code.google.com/p/eepe/downloads ... akechanges

Just unzip it somewhere and fire up eepe. When you're done just erase the folder and update eePe as you normally do.
Please post bugs and comments to this thread.

Thanks!
Z

Nice! I like the Lightening bolt for fuse setting.

Will give it a full run in a little bit.

weird thing, first ran the new eepe, didn't recognize any of the model files at all going through a few of the menu load items, then suddenly, it worked.. works now.

So far so good.. loaded up models from radio, wrote, saved, nothing unusual yet.

Off grocery shopping, test more later.

What do you mean - it didn't recognize the model files?
It's supposed to convert the files behind the scenes and not show any errors....

When I first started this version, I went to open model data. Nothing was listed , except for an eepm file I had. Everything else was not shown. (not using load model, just the open dialog, load model only shows you eepg files, doesn't show eepm files)

Weird... so I just closed the dialog box, and tried to open model with another menu item, same thing... weird again.. I went to copy the model memory from my radio and play with it, decided to try to copy paste model data from another model, this time everything showed up. Since then it's all good. exited, rebooted, and reloaded this version, everything is okay.

Maybe something in memory from something? Dunno, but I haven't been able to re create the little burp.

The fuse setting is much easier now, but what are the effects if you use two 9x transmitters with one pc/eepe program sharing all the same files.
Is it safe? Particularly when restoring, and the saved file is actually from another TX. Does it effect the fuse protection.?
My transmitters are one Turnigy and one Flysky. (Flysky has better switches by the way,but thats another subject).

All that the fuse settings do is prevent the EEPROM (model memories) from being erased when you update the firmware.

I do not suggest copying a complete memory from one transmitter to the other just because the calibration would be different.
