thanks
its a hold voice system....ok
i add 10$ with new board to remove low eeprom memory .........
next step add a rotary encoder
and maybe hall effect sensor pots (what about precision?)is it better
best regards jmi

Re: Problem with last new Hobbyking Turnigy 9X transmiters.
My hall sensor gimbals I did it myself. I didn't buy any ready made stuff..
I would say that the accuracy is much better in my case.I have just turned the radio ON to check again, and worse case was a variation of 0.3. Most of the times I got an accuracy of 0.0.
In the DiagAna screens The HEX numbers (on the left) came exactly to the same number when centered the sticks.
So considering this, I would say that the precision is quite good , or even excellent, or even the best I ever seen in any radio
Ahh, and this mod was performed on the original 9x sticks.. No ball bearings at all, and a lot of play
It did work very well for me, that doesn't mean it will for you.. Magnets might be different, it is not easy to place magnets and sensors very accurately.. A lot of patience is needed..

Re: Problem with last new Hobbyking Turnigy 9X transmiters.
So, has the original supposed problem been dismissed ?
Re: Problem with last new Hobbyking Turnigy 9X transmiters.
SR71 we did intermittently cause the issues described by people, however the same radio worked correctly when flashed with either a different programmer, firmware or in some cases resetting the fuses would fix a different issue (To be clear this was the case for all versions of the chip). Coming down to it we discovered there are a lot of ways it can go wrong but the chip is not at fault, just the combination of things that are used in some cases.
Just to be clear, we didn't just test one radio, we tested several of every version of the 9x released to date. In fact we took a team of people off other projects to test this full time for 2 weeks. There is more information in the document I posted here.
Obviously we can't test every combination of third party hardware but I put what worked for us most reliably in the document. Of anything using an arduino SPI was the most likely to cause issues (or should I say for us to make a mistake haha) although we only tested 3 versions, the UNO, Duemilanove and Diecimila. We also tested the chips looking for wrap around memory or other strange issues but they all worked as expected.
I don't see how there is much more we can do on this issue, there are too many variables out of our hands and we can't really give support to individual cases of a mod gone wrong (what company can?). We preformed a very detailed investigation and have provided a tutorial outlining the process that worked for us. We will continue to be on the look out for these issues in future but as of yet we have found no evidence that the green chip is any different than the previous version in the way that it behaves.
We are so confident that the chip has no issues that we are prepared to offer a reward of an FS-i10 to the first person that can bring us testable proof that the green chip is the source of these issues/does not function properly.
Hope you all had a good holiday! Have a happy new year!

I wonder how this chip will work with a 9xtreme board connected to it and flashing it..

Re: Problem with last new Hobbyking Turnigy 9X transmiters.
Hello.
In first sorry for my language - I hope you understand me
I have a problem with my new T9X radio - when its arrived then on screen i see only "eeprom error", then I solder a little programer 'USBTinyIsp ATtiny 44' and I will flash them. I check my chip and its a clon of m128 - Green ED040501-H16D.
When flashing make a verification (I flash on eepe, because "companion9x" or "Companion2.0" doesn't work - only eepe its working with this radio) i have a comunicat :"avrdude.exe verification error first mismatch at byte 0x10000 0x63 ! = 0x0c". After this radio its turning on and work correctly, but a some time radio make a reset - it's not good if I want use it with models...
I don't know what to do...

Re: Problem with last new Hobbyking Turnigy 9X transmiters.
Hello there,
i'm also got a new HK Turnigy 9X with Green ED040502-H16D Chip.
Is there a way to use that on openTX now?
If not, is it enough to replace only the chip? Which Chip should i take?
Sorry for my bad english
bye Marcel

Chip replacement INFO, suggest you look at the ATMEGA2561-16AU CPU Chip: (viewtopic.php?f=95&t=3819&p=74336&hilit ... hip#p74105).hobride wrote:Hello there,

Your Green ED040502-H16D Chip may be OK.
Maybe an incorrect setting when flashing or maybe selecting the wrong eepe or opentx firmware.

OpenTX doesn't support the Atmega2561.. Only Er9x

Re: Problem with last new Hobbyking Turnigy 9X transmiters.
Jason (flysky): I had the transmitter which worked like described in the document You posted - intermittend reseting etc. I think that I did nothing wrong during flashing (I flashed about 5 transmitters with atmega chip before with the same programmer/PC with no issues).
after lot of trying with different settings, programmers etc, I decided that it is because of the chip itself and I resoldered atmega64 chip from broken mainboard of an old transmitter, then I flashed it the same way as before and it is working with no issues. Maybe this was only the problem of few chips (it was working ok with the original FW) but I am pretty sure, that I did nothing wrong during flashing - because now it works - or the atmega chip is immune of the mistake which I did in both cases. Its a shame that I put the green chip in trash so I cant send it to You to check it
But I am happy to hear that it was only occasionaly problem, because this radio is used by lot of people here, its cheap and with openTX very capable..

sure will not and up with a brick on my desk?
im little confused since read many differents topic.
item bought at banggood as spare replacement board. connections to flash via usbasp are same as original board?

Re: Problem with last new Hobbyking Turnigy 9X transmiters.
We don't have a definite answer. It should work. Make sure you read the supplied firmware and EEPROM from the radio before you flash new firmware, then you can, at least, revert to the original firmware.

Re: Problem with last new Hobbyking Turnigy 9X transmiters.
In eepe you have to select the m128. In the programmer field you select UsbAsp. Don't try to write the firmware until you achieve a successful read, to make sure things are working.

did it, went ok
i have backup of flash and eeprom saved in .hex in case needed
now must configure models , in reta? using its original module.
next step is wait my friend get multimodule. i personally own a devo 10 and a x9r pro in exit,
that made me past 30 minutes busy on this with mi mind free , thats hobby

Re: Problem with last new Hobbyking Turnigy 9X transmiters.
hi all! My flysky works great with newest open tx fw, but I cant install it on turnigy with green chip. Its not recognized by companion. So if I get it right I need to install fw in epee? Will it work? Can I install open tx on it after or not? I need 2 radios in teacher student mode...
Im using avr programer. Thanks for answear.

Re: Problem with last new Hobbyking Turnigy 9X transmiters.
Make sure you have the correct processor set. The original Flysky radios used the M64 chip. These "green" ones have a M128 chip.

In eepe it same as in companion. Doube check connections and try again.. target doesnt answear. I have chosen M128 for processor and for avr also 128 and 64 but same...
Re: Problem with last new Hobbyking Turnigy 9X transmiters.
The problem is likely with your programmer or the way you installed your programming wires.

Re: Problem with last new Hobbyking Turnigy 9X transmiters.
Two of the signals used for programming go to signals used by the THR and AIL switches. Some programmers are unable to drive these signals if the switches are "ON". Try with these switches in their other position.

Hi I have checked all wires directly from board to programmer with meter. They are same as in fryskys...
Switches are off, if they are on I get switch error when connected.I have no idea... frysky works this doesnt...strange...

Re: Problem with last new Hobbyking Turnigy 9X transmiters.
Hi all,
I'm having some troubles with my Turnigy 9x from Hobbyking with Green Chip.
I've tried to flash OpenTx and er9x both succesfully but when I'm trying to setup the transmitter I'm having EEPROM errors that clears all the transmiter. I think is because the firmware that I've set is not the good one and the eemprom is a different size and when it's saving the config is broken.
I'm very new in this so please, if you can help me how to solve my problem.
If I cannot solve it, do you thin I can swap the motherboard for an AR9X?
Thanks for your help and sorry about my english.
Thanks again.

Re: Problem with last new Hobbyking Turnigy 9X transmiters.
Try flashing with the switches in the opposite positions. Due to the way they are connected, they say they are "off", when they are connecting the signal to ground.

And yes, you can install an Ar9x board in your radio. It should be more or less plug and play.

Ok with switches opposite I get reading done. Itcsaya signature atmega128 is 1e97 02
Double check chip of use F...
And I have eprom error on tx written.
What now?

Ok I used -F and it writes but when it reads I get avr dude did not finish correctly. Tx is dead:( nothing on screen..
Re: Problem with last new Hobbyking Turnigy 9X transmiters.
You just done the only thing you should not do.. Plenty of warnings on this and other forums saying NEVER, BUT NEVER USE THE -F OPTION.
I believe you've just bricked your radio
You will need a 1Mhz oscillator, or an arduino programmed to send an 1Mhz signal on one of its pins, to try to bring it back to life..
