I have the 9xtreme with the latest firmware, in my Turnigy 9x with a frsky DJT. My quad has the D4R-II and a naze32 with betaflight. A wire for the vbat is hooked up to the naze32, and the D4R is sending telemetry with softserial.
I am having a very difficult time finding any step by step process to setup telemetry on my transmitter. I think I have it setup correctly with the quad and cleanflight, but I don't know how to check it and see it and hear it on my transmitter.
How do I get telemetry?

Figured out the next step to get me going. The fact that the 9xtreme black and white wire needs to be attacked to the DJT module via drilling a hole in the case was not well documented or obvious. After doing that (and fixing the screen that I installed crooked) I finally have some telemetry data. Next step will be to make voice alarms and such

If you are referring to SmartieParts, 9Xtreme, Installation Instructions not having any documentation to properly connect
the black and white telemetry wires, I encourage you to request Steven to include FrSky telemetry wire connections in the
SmartieParts.com, 9Xtreme Installation Instructions.

I have not seen any Installation Instructions for the FrSky Telemetry black and white wires connections in your SmartieParts, 9Xtreme Installation Instructions.
It would be a help for those who may not know where and how to find the information needed in the 9Xtreme upgrade board forum directory.
I have been updating the 9Xtreme installation instructions and for the erSky9x and eePSkye user instructions at
the first forum posting: 9Xtreme Upgrade Board for 9x Radios (viewtopic.php?f=95&t=7182&p=98846#p98846).
You may want to add a reference to this post (9Xtreme Upgrade Board for 9x Radios) for more info about the 9Xtreme board and/or have this post moved to the 9Xtreme upgrade board forum directory, as this was the first post for the 9Xtreme board which I started and placed it under Hardware before the 9Xtreme upgrade board forum directory was created.

I recently went through the same confusion regarding DJT/9Xtreme connections and received great help from MikeB and bob195558. I snapped some photos during installation and put together a quick document, it is posted here. download/file.php?id=12944
I have a Pixhawk controller and a 3DR telemetry system that is displaying pretty much everything I need to know on my TX. Initially I was getting nothing but after playing around with eepskye settings I slowly started making progress. Not sure if your flight controller is similar but I would be glad to send you my eprom config. if it might help.
