Try the file called " Voice Pack 9XR-Pro 16Khz.zip"
I will make a welcome voice for the 9Xtreme board soon ;)

Hi João,
It would be good for the newbe's to have all the 9Xtreme SD folders/files needed for there new blank SD Card.
I know your time is much full, but could you create a ZIP file for the 9xtreme SD card ?
Here is what I have so far:
Test 9Xtreme SD Card files.zip
It needs the Welcome to 9Xtreme voice files and needs to have folder and files add/subtracted so that it would
be proper for the 9xtreme Boards. :)

Bob B.
just merged your files with the one I'm slowly building for my SD card, saw the bitmaps and images files so I used one in eepsky and uploaded it to my tx ..........

now where if anywhere should it appear?

It's Sunday evening ..... I'm bored .....so I'm fiddling with stuff

last time I was bored I found out carbon fibre was conductive so I got to buy some shiny new ESC's

It sound like it is saying " Welcome to 9X3"

When writing 9Xtreme, Try writing it something like this: "9X_Treme"

I do not remember how I did it to cause the voice to say the words properly.
But I found, I had to break up the word for it to be said correctly.
I can not go back and check to see what I did because the hard drive failed several months ago and I lost all of that info.

That dose not sound right also. :(

Keep trying and you should find what works.
That's how I did it. :)

Added: try more spacing between letters like: 9 X .... streme.

I play with sound a bit use to be an AV tech,

Just let me know how you want it said do you want it with the components separated as

"9" "XT" " reme" or fades together like "9" "X" "Treme"( with the emphasis on the T in Treme )

is there a vid anywhere with someone saying it how it should be said? cos I can match that in most voices

I've messed with the tempo a bit and done some other stuff this is the best I've managed so far
I can probably bring the file size down a bit as well but I've work in the morning so I'm off to bed

This I think has the best sound
small pause inserted to give the 9Xtreme more 'Punch'
tempo reduced and pitch slightly lowered to remove any computor generated effect

I was aiming for the BBC shipping forcast girls voice :D

I dunno... in my head, I hear a dude's voice.

There's no download option, but go here enter "welcome to 9 extreme" and then choose "Rich 16k".

I lie, there's a better one! Go here and choose Peter, speed -1

That's how I imagine Mike B sounding :)

That's the dude!

hey guys im absolutely loving my 9xtreme board now i can connect via usb and have speech ect cant thank you all enough for all your hard work

just a quick question. i use a frsky djt module and have many d4rii receivers so i was wondering how ware i connect the black and white wires marked (frsky) from the 9xtreme board to the 9x as i now see a telemetry screen on my menu im assuming this is what this is for ?

cheers

The black wire goes to the DJT Tx pin and the white wire goes to the DJT Rx pin (on the back of the module).
The idea is to drill a small hole beside module, to pass the wire through. To get the wires through, slide them out of the housing (gently lift the retaining tab to allow this), feed them through the hole and then replace them in the housing.

I just realized now that I kind of screwed up on that wire. I mean, it works... but people are probably going to wonder why I made it so short! I believe this is what the kids call a "brain fart". The length of wire worked for the TelemetrEZ so I stuck with it, neglecting to consider that the TelemetrEZ attaches to the back half of the 9X while the 9Xtreme, of course, attaches to the front. So while the length of wire is perfectly fine once it is all closed up, it does present a bit of a challenge feeding it through the hole while everything else is connected!

The more advanced users aren't doing it this way anyway. I think people prefer a more clean installation and are instead modifying the DJT module and backplane so that the connection is made internally (in which case you're coming up with your own wiring). It is more work, of course, but the end result is neater.

The procedure for the TelemetrEZ is described here. It should mostly apply.

Other methods abound... I saw one the other day that was clever, utilizing spring connections. Can't remember where I saw that and I'm too busy authoring the 9Xteme instructions to go dig it up.

Here is a picture of how it looks.
Picture shows how it is wired for the older TelemetrEZ board.
DJT Telemetry Wiring.jpg
I use a 5 pin plug connector and the top pin hole I plug-up so the plug can only be plugged in one way.

Steven indicated that the wire colors are opposite on the 9Xtrene board.
So for the 9xtreme the Telemetry White wire goes to the DJT module, Rxd pin
and the Black wire goes to the DJT module, Txd pin.

In case you're wondering... for the previous product (DJT) I used a 5-pin as well, for the same reason you suggest. But we didn't do that this time since the XJT doesn't have space for it. So instead we designed it so while it *can* be plugged in more than one way and it does need to be plugged in the correct way, it won't damage anything to get it wrong and this way it works for both models.

As you can see for the internal installation; the one using the internal DHT Transmitter module; the white-black telemetering wire is just the right length. This should encourage everyone to do the internal mod instead of the ugly hole. 8-) I am looking into other ways of doing the internal wiring, but the DHT is the only one available unless you want to take one of the XJTs apart. I should note that I connected to the EXTERNAL port on this one, I will change it to the internal port as I test the Tx.
Tx and Rx still seem to be a problem understanding. I connected the Smartyparts extreme Tx (white wire) --> to the backplane Rx on the 9x (red wire which is pin 2) and the extreme Rx (black wire) to the <- Tx on the 9x (white wire which is pin 5). So the EXTERNAL XJT module should connect to the pin 5 on the 9x then to the black wire on the Smartieparts extreme board when I swap modules..

The problem is that there is no internal "X" module. Many people now use the XJT module..
But what about installing a replacement taranis internal module? Would that be possible?

I think the internal module only comes ready mounted on the Taranis backboard.

Ahh, ok, thanks.. I don't have a Taranis, so I didn't know. :(
It would be nice frsky released a DIY "X" module though..

We could purchase the XJT module and take it apart and then install it internally. :)

Just a quick question about telemetry i currently use a djt module and d4rii receivers but if i was to get a xjt module which will allow me to use the x series receivers and smart port telemetry items will this just work or will i need to modify anything ?

cheers

It will just work with the 'X' series receivers. A new XJT will most likely have the "EU firmware" so won't support 'D' series receivers.

Mike.
