Beginner help with 9xr Pro, XJT & x8R

Post by ConRacer »

Hi,

I am new to the hobby and have 9Xr Pro with 218 firmware, XJT & X8R. This is going to be plugged into a Pixhawk.
What do I need to do to get Telemetry through the Smart port on the X8R?

Hi Con, I didn't answer before because I know nothing about the pixhawk and how to configure it for telemetry. That you can probably find out in a dedicated forum.
What I can tell you is that you don't need any special cable for telemetry and you should to go to the Model Setup/telemetry menu and make sure that "Frsky Com Port" is set to 1. This will enable telemetry from your receiver. Now, I don't know how the pixhawk sends the telemetry data, and what data it sends, so I can't help you further.

Another thing I can do is to warn you not to remove/insert your module with the radio turned ON. It can damage your radio badly..

Hi ConRacer,
Using the X8R you would can purchase telemetry sensors,
see here for some that are available: (https://alofthobbies.com/radio-gear/frs ... nsors.html).

To be able to read the flight controller PIXHAWK sensors through the S.Port connection to your 9XR-Pro, I do not know how to do this.
I do not know if the FrSky Smart Port to UART Converter (SP2UART) could be used to help make it work ?
