Where is the installer for ersky9x

Post by ejo60 »

I understand that the new distribution channel will be github mike because google coding is going to shut down (why google, why?), but where do I find the installers for windows7? Also (please don't kill me for this question) will the new repository be backward compatible in case you want to return to a previous version of the software?

Github is holding the source files, release binary files are at http://www.er9x.com/. I'm still trying to find time to put a better web page up there.
The binary files are already there, and the latest revision of eepskye (and eepe) from googlecode already looks for updates from there.

Googlecode will be available as read-only for a few months, maybe I'll need to export the repository to Github to make sure older revisions remain available.

Mike, Don't know if this is just the browser I'm using (Firefox) , or if there's something else going on behind the scenes, if I go to the link, I only get a header ER9x Home page - 4, with no other visible content or links to anywhere or anything. Just in case, I've disabled my adblock program for the site, but that seems to make no difference.

My browser only displays that too.. I think it's just like it is at the moment. The binaries are there but no link to them on the site.. :)

Correct, that's all I've had time to put there.
I need to find time to design a reasonable page, with download links.
If there is a web page designer, with time to create one, that would be helpful.

Why don't you put the installers and the versions on github?

They are not supposed to be on Github, just the sources, according to Github. In addition, Github is a HTPPS site, and QtCreator, used to build eepe/eepskye, doesn't have proper support for downloading files over a HTPPS connection.

Binaries can be attached to Release posts and stay out of source control, but that would break the autoupdate system.

But it shouldn't be hard to add a couple of quick text links to the webpage just so people can actually download the files until something better looking is done :)

I've added some download links to the home page.

Perfect thanks.

There's one possible query, there seems to be 2 alternatives for the ER9X standard versions, the first line, and the 8th line down. Not an issue for me, but it might save some pain for others.

Cheers

The joys of copy-paste. I kept copying the first line down to create the other entries. I must have left one in by mistake.

I'll be adding links for eepe and eepskye in due course.

Thought it might be, happy to be able to help avoid aggravations, I am guessing that you've more than enough to contend with as a result of the Google changes.

Best regards
