Issue with offset

Post by mentero »

Hi,

I'm setting up a model that requires elevator compensation when throttle is applied.

If I set a value of weight of 5, and an offset of 5, the output value varies from -2 to 8 instead of 0 to 10 (?)

For having no compensation when throttle value is -100, I need to set a weight of 5 and a offset of 7.

I have tried with bigger values and it seems that there is a constant difference of 2 units.

Radio is a 9XR-PRO running ersky9x-pf 4r 221 (05-11-2017) MOD REVB-X
Fixed Offset is ticked, but the problem continues if un-ticked.
Use Output is unchecked but again does not affect the result.

Nice flights,
Miguel

CH02 100% Ele
+5% Thr Offset (5%)

This should work.

Check you have the trims centered. But on which screen are you seeing those values?

Hi Joao,

Agreed that it should, but for some reason it does not. Trims are centered. On the last photo, throttle is full down. Channel order is AETR.

Source for CH2 is taken from CH3, since the throttle stick behaves differently in normal mode and landing (crow) mode, but that should not affect the result.

Your second mixer line of ch3 is a
replace 100% THR Curve 12

This line is the active mixer line (except there is an inactive switch not shown on the picture)

So what does curve 12 do ??

Hi,

The second line is not selected in the "Normal" mode. It is not shown in bold in the picture, and is not selected directly by a switch, but by a flight mode.

Anyway, the curve takes care of reducing crow up to the middle position of the throttle stick, and start throttle from center up when in "Landing" (crow) mode.

If you look at the picture, you will see that the value or CH3 is -100 and the value of CH2 is unexpectedly -2 (-1.9 to be precise), instead of zero.

Miguel, could you please save your model to your computer, zip it and post it here so we can see it? It would be easier to find out what is happening cause we would actually see all the programming and what is doing..

Hi,

There you are, thanks for your help. Model is an electro ASW 28, with four servos wing.

Will be flown tomorrow for the first time if wind allows.

Please note that in the attached file, I have already changed offset on CH2 to 7, because that is what seems to work. Also "Use Output" is checked. Original name of the file is "ASW 28.eepm".
It is the first time that I backup a model, (I am new to ersky9x), and I cannot open the file with eepskye (Linux).
ASW 28.zip
(602 Bytes) Downloaded 260 times
To be on the safe side, I am also attaching the .bin file with the model ASW28 included. Original file name "asw28eeprom.bin"

I have checked your first file on eepskye, changed the offset to 5 and it did work as supposed..
Check your sticks calibration, this is what I can think of at the moment.

I think I have found a bug in Eepskye though.. Will report it on another thread..

Hi,

I checked on eepskye and all goes as expected.

I also have recovered the file to my radio, overwriting the previous model, and the problem has stopped. I cannot reproduce it anymore.

Go figure.

Thanks for your time and empathy.
Miguel

PS, the maiden flight of the model went like a breeze.

Need to do it now.
