Yes. Module voltage is standard straight battery voltage and that's what the module expects.

Sorry , posted this late last night and I was super tired ..

Quote :
Ok, the problem is that the 9x drives the ppm signal to the module direct from the atmel processor. This gives a 5V, low impedance signal.
Unfortunately the V8JT assumes a high impedance or open collector drive so it has no overload protection on the ppm input.
The bottom line is that you are driving a 5V signal into a 3.3V processor input and there is a big chance it will fail.

So this is whats apparently at issue ..
So my question should have been .. are all the 9x radios the same in this regard . ( 9x - 9XR - 9XR pro = Yes I have all 3 )

The 9XR-PRO has an ARM processor running from 3.3V, so the PPM output is only 3.3V.
The 9X and 9XR both output 5V.
Have you checked the PPM input circuit of the V8JT, or have you just found that information posted somewhere?

I was looking for information on the FrSky V8Jt ..
And Google showed a warning for this module used with the 9x Transmitter
Original post was on RC groups ...

https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthr ... 8JT-module

I did buy the module for the 9XR pro , I have little need for telemetry so thought the Tx module might be good for Bind and fly quads ..
There is one particular B A F micro quad that is FrSky only .. ( looks like it might be super fun )

I currently use the Orange Tx and a Flysky (9x) module in my 9XR ..
Would these be ok in the 9XR pro ( I would assume so )
I would like to cull my Tx collection down to 2 ..
( Turnigy i10 and 9XR pro )
The 9XR pro being my module mule ..

Any FRSky-compatible BNF quad you would buy today would be using either D or X receivers, an old V8 module won't control either of these, only the V receivers.

And if you really have quads that use different systems like DSM/X, frsky and flysky, the right module for you might be the 4 in 1 multiprotocol module. This module does all of the protocols you might need. So you would need only one radio really.. :)

Quite possibly ...

Yes I have seen that one ... ( On the to buy list )
And I have ordered another module that does a whole bunch of protocols ...
I like my i10 , not really sure I am ready to part with it ...
