OrangeRx module as data transmitter

Hi,
I've been 'playing' with OrangeRX modules, hoping to get them to transmit GPS NMEA data. I've been told that there has to be one as TX and one as RX and they must be 'binded' together. I'm not questioning the experts, but does anyone think they could program one to simply send data. If this is possible I would have the choice of reciver.
