Re: GPS sensor
ok i am updating it now. this was report anyway. this was just from downloading the imu openxsensor from github with no changes made by me. This report would have more information with "Show verbose output during compilation" enabled in File > Preferences. Arduino: 1.0.6 (Windows 7), Board...

Re: GPS sensor
I got an error when Itried toI compiled the IMU code yesterday?
I am using older arduino suit still, should I be on newer version now?
Actually thinking about it I may have some IMU code in my library folder from when I fptried to get flarrison code , I will remove those folders and try again.

Re: Using extended kalman filter with oXs
I did download the IMU code from github, but it did not compile in arduino, BTW the GPS code currently on github also does not seem to work with my gy-63 now either, but the size of the GPS file is smaller then the older version I downloaded a while back which does work. I expect this is all because...

Is this implimented now in oxs?
I wonder if it could make the bmp180 more precise and good enough for vario tones now?

Re: GPS sensor
The resistor is a good idea, flarrison told me he scoped the RX pin with resistor and levels were 3.3v .. The frsky RX are 5v tolerant I was told but problem will occur if you connect another s.port sensor which is not 5v tolerant if you don't use resistor. Another option is to power the arduino wit...

Reading between the lines on some forums for flight controllers the bmp280 is still not as good as the ms5611.
Gy86 is still best option then. ,..

Re: Gy-91
Ok, thanks for all your hard work!
Looking forward to trying out the 6050 code if weather ever gets better....
And GPS too of course!
Looks like the bmp280 will be fair bit cheaper then the ms5611, just need it on a diy board for a decent price.
Not that the ms5611 is very expensive now........

Gy-91
I see the gy-91 on aliexpress for under £5,
It has bmp280 and compas and gyro, mpu9250.
I remember the bmp280 being mentioned before and that is might well be as good as the ms5611..
Maybe worth thinking about putting in openxsensor at some point?
Anyone experience with it yet?

Re: getting none inverted data sent from openxsensor to rx
That is what Midelic is doing right now and why he wanted none inverted hub data. But a verrsion of the RX code for just a bmp180 for altitude would mean you have the option of burning different fw version for whatever you want to use it in, the rx-f801 for instance is £7 , add a bmp180 for 60 pence...

Re: getting none inverted data sent from openxsensor to rx
Oh and I was thinking of just the altimeter/vario for a dlg in particular , maybe just use a bmp180 and forget vario part, just use altitude for launch heights.
A bmp180 cost 60 pence and is tiny and weighs virtually nothing.

Re: getting none inverted data sent from openxsensor to rx
The rx-f802 has 2 analogue inputs already, one is divided down so that a 3 cell lipo can be connected , the other just up to 3.3v. I guess the other sensors would take up space when the idea of this RX is that it is small and cheap and catering for lots of different sensors might take too much proce...

Re: getting none inverted data sent from openxsensor to rx
I think for simplicity of getting code and testing it on the RX Midelic has no time to build an inverter but is travelling and has time to write a little change of code for openxsensor and then can test it quickly when he is home. Also the tx and RX pin for the 328 processor on reciever is there to ...

Re: getting none inverted data sent from openxsensor to rx
i Built a simple inverter for now with a bc546b and some resistors for testing hub data, its only one way right? so the inverter has the advantage of being able to level shift too which is handy. once s.port data is attempted on this rx though a 2 way inverter would be needed unless its implemented ...

getting none inverted data sent from openxsensor to rx
hi, there is midelics diy rx which he is writting code for hub telemetry now, his code runs on rx-f802 which i am testing for him whilst he makes the code , would the inverted hub data be easy to change to none inverted for simple connection to his rx, if so how? thanks nigel. discusion here on the ...

Re: GPS sensor
Changed to knots and speed seems correct now.
Just out of interest not pestering, will support for D8 series rxs be added to the GPS code sometime?
My gy-86 is now posted at last and tracking is working so hoping it arrives soon and I can help test out your IMU code.

Re: GPS sensor
Thanks yes I did read that line about sending in kph and think I have it sending in kph now, tx is set to imperial and so announced mph but does not convert the number then, I am using opentx 2.0.17 so need to send it in knots then. I take it that opentx 2.0.17 does not convert knots to mph then and...

Re: GPS sensor
Ok I stuck in the car and went for a drive, Results much better, most of the time 10 hz is working with just the occasional repeated value but this could well be down to bushes building etc etc. Though it did tell me I was going at 50 mph when I was doing 30, opentx obviously not changing the value ...

Re: GPS sensor
I think I need to build the GPS properly ( it is just connected with cables and jumpers etc ) and fit it in a plane and test properly. Apart from rubbish weather the glider I intended it for stopped working the other day , the x4r just refused to connect to tx so that has been sent back to t9hobbysp...

think the vario data is being sent too even though the vario is not connected so this might slow it down a bit too, but yes i was just hanging out of window so data changes in gps position etc wont be much , i will test more tomorow if it stops raining . i imagine the data updates not being synchron...

Thanks for explaining that to me, I found that your GPS code ran faster updating the lat and long etc, flarrison said his would run faster without using nmea. Also he uses a cut down version of the openxvario I think to save space? I suspect the code to get attitude would push his version over the m...
