Re: Radioking TX18S Radio

In the Radio Setup|Display menu you may set the background colour and text colour: screen1.jpg I've been improving the layout of a couple of the main screens, and I've changed (improved?) the mid sized font (see the battery voltage and timer below): screen2.jpg screen3.jpg I'm looking into the creat...

Oops yes, I've edited my post above.
Rad: That would be fine, you may prefer to get the AOD403, shown at the right of that page. This is in a much larger package so will be easier to fit.

olivierhacking: Do you have eepskye installed? If so, just backup both your EEPROM (models) and Flash (firmware) to your PC, then flash the new firmware. I have always tried to keep new firmware to be fully compatible with models stored from previous versions.

Re: Radioking TX18S Radio

erskyTx should be OK on the TX18S. Most of the firmware is common to all other radios running erskyTx, it is just a few things like the odd switch and/or button that is different and I think I have those sorted. As long as the internal module is controlling the servos you should be good to go. With ...

Yes, I think putting the .bin file in the firmware directory of the SD card and then using the bootloader to flash it should work.

Re: Charging port.

NO! The 2N7000 is a N-Channel MOSFET, you need a P-Channel MOSFET. Tricky to find one in a TO92 package that handles a couple of amps, you may need to go for a larger package, or perhaps a surface mount D-PAK package device. You need a device that handles 2A (or more), has a VGS of at least 10V (you...

What revision of erskyTx are you using?
XFIRE (CRSF) protocol should be present for the external module (last option after MULTI).

What firmware version do you have on your Tx?
Looking at the module, I think you just plug it in and select "XFIRE" as the protocol for the external module.

Re: Taranis X9E, how know which component it is?

I never looked at the datasheet for that part, the gate-source voltage for both MOSFETs in it are, indeed, 8V maximum. The X9E uses 3 of these devices, one for the soft, main power switch and one each for the power to the internal and external modules. Since the battery is an 8-cell NiMh, we have 9....

I still fully support the 9XR-PRO with erskyTx (it shipped with a version of erskyTx). openTx is still available for the 9XR-PRO, although I have heard some user have problems. I don't think anyone developing for openTx uses a 9XR-PRO, but I may be wrong.

It would be useful if you could update to the eepskye built using V5 of QTCreator. This is not automated, I've still to get it to also check for updates. Go to the test versions thread and first download eepskye5.zip from 12-Dec-2020 19:53. To install you just copy the contents of the zip file to a ...

Re: KingRadio TX18S

What version of eepskye are you using? In particular, have you updated to use the version compiled using QT5? I'm now moving over to using that version only as it supports very high resolution screens better, and also the graphing of log files, which won't compile on the QT4 version. I've got a chan...

Re: KingRadio TX18S

I have improved the font since I first added colour screen radios. Regarding the touch screen, I currently have no information on the hardware and how it works. If you changed the bootloader to the erskyTx one, then eepskye should communicate with it. To update the bootloader, copy the erskyTx .bin ...

If you have the backup and the openTx .bin file, then you may just flash erskyTx, and flash back to openTx if required. No problem. If it generally looks to be OK, all trims and controls working, then it should be all OK. erskyTx is running on the FrSky X10S, X10S express, Jumper T16 and Radiomaster TX16S.

Re: Motor Inertia simulation

On a full size vehicle (with gears) initial acceleration is high, while once up to speed acceleration is lower. This is opposite to your original suggestion (slow slew rate at low throttle and high slew rate at high throttle). So what is needed?

Re: Charging port.

The diode is on the "other" side of the board, so to replace it will require the board to be removed. You could, however, just solder a wire across it without removing the board.

I use erskyTx, not openTx, but most things operate the same way. Re: Motor Inertia simulation

Looking at your suggestion for a software change, if you are at zero throttle and you move the stick to full, then the slew rate will be at the highest rate and the acceleration from zero to full speed will be at the fastest rate. I don't think that would simulate the flywheel approach, I would thin...

Re: Weight or End Points?

If setting throws, then endpoints are "best". You adjust each end independently, while weight will adjust both sides at the same time.
In either case, trims should give you 25% of the available throw.
