Re: Simple question: Where is actual servo limit set in OpenTX menues?
Aye. I tried to upgrade to the newer build and it had some bugs so I downgraded to maintain reliability, and then never looked at upgrading again. I'll be switching to ER9X/Ar9x soon, anyway.
Thanks again, y'all!!!

Simple question: Where is actual servo limit set in OpenTX menues?
I have OpentTx on a 9x and I'm slightlty confused/forget. In which OpenTX menu screen do I finally limit the actual throw of a servo? Mixer screen? or Limits screen? What is the effective difference in limiting the weight in the mixer screen vs the limits screen? Thanks for humoring me! *Edited for ...

Debating on upgrading my 9x with AR9x and M9's OR scratch building a radio case like this one with an UNI and M9's https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpos ... stcount=15
that way, I would have the 9x with dsm and also custom with xjt...

...How is this issue fixed in the AR9X board?
Or is the AR9X chip less picky about digital vs analog ground, and it doesn't matter?

Re: Unexplained reboot while un flight
I haven't traced it out on the schema or in my tx, yet, but rather than cutting traces and soldering jumper wires, wouldn't it be easier to just remove horizontal trim gnd wire from the plug that goes to the mobo, and piggyback that to the digital ground wire? Or are there other components tied into...

Re: Unexplained reboot while un flight
Thanks! I had no frickin idea that was an issue. I was brand new to 8ch+ tx's when I got the 9x, and didn't find any major issues like this (obviously, I missed this one!) when researching before buying. So, I have to cut the ground trace for the horizontal trim buttons, and reconnect them to the gr...

So not cool! F22 scratch build dtfb/stick plane, orangerx switchable dsm/walkera module, opentx 2940, turnigy 9x, spektrum 6xxx rx. I crashed my f22 and had to retrim the plane. OK!
Jhsa:
why would I want LCD extension with AR9x?
Original 9x LCD/backlight works with new board?
What is "programing S-port device from transmitter"? Where is the S-port device located (Tx module? rx?)?
Thx! TTYS!

Re: Will OpenTx display sbus telemetry with 9x radio LCD?
I'm sold on the idea of the AR9x, at this point it's a matter of budget and time. Soon... I keep asking about m64/m128 chips because I have a walkera donor tx that I'm going to convert with an m64, and then maybe build a teeny tiny one for fun, just because I have the parts. I really want to learn p...

Re: Optical encoders for gimbals?
Oh, I don't know that I found suitable devices. But cruising throught ebay and digikey, I found a few for $6-$16 that looked like they might do the job. Honestly, i think I agree with Kilrah about a center position and if it skips for some reason are two drawbacks I would not be willing to risk. Tha...

Optical encoders for gimbals?
The pots in transmitter gimbals are finicky to find replacements for (because they need to be 0k-5k over only 60* of rotation), and there have been many threads on many forums concerning the topic. I see now that some manufacturers are using hall effect sensors and there is some debate over sufficie...

Dude, that is sick! I have a few questions, though: what is the real time clock for? er9x for the ar9x has programming for extra buttons built in? is it setup/selected in the 9x, or in the firmware before you flash? what are the 4 buttons on the back for (what do *you use them for)? Does internal mo...

Thank you, but this is more of a pet project/desire/learning experience. I already have a 9x capable of running ER9x and supporting the XJT telemetry.
I just wanna build a badass radio to show off, I guess..... posterity, that sort of thing.
I do appreciate all the info, comments, and advice!

I see there is a mega2561 build for ER9X. I assume this can be flashed to a diy 2560? same schematics as the OpenTx DIY 2560?
Am I right?

Will OpenTx display sbus telemetry with 9x radio LCD?
I've looked and keep finding only older posts. I'm hoping someone here will brighten my day with an unexpected "yes, it will work" Very simple question: I keep seeing that a 9x radio+OpenTx+XJT module will not properly display telemetry data on the 9x lcd. Is this the case? I know a co pil...

I also remeber having trouble "getting" it and thinking "screw it, I won't need it anyway"

Re: Limit throttle with a pot
Step away from my original question for one moment and correct me if I'm wrong, please: When I use P1 as my input it is giving -100 to +100 over the whole throw of the knob. When I involve an "offset" value, that value is added to the value low value (-100) of the input (P1) for the output...
