Re: ER9x Tarot 450 pro with xyz throttle problem...

I finally got to look at your file. It looks fine when I load it into eepe. Everything seems set up fine. Your ID0 curve goes negative because the throttle range is from -100 to 100. So full off is at -100, then the mid point or half way is at 0, and finally full is at 100. I remembered after checki...

Have you followed the tutorial from the first post. In there it explains how to set the pitch ranges and everything else?

Re: Helicopter setup via the template

Pitch is controlled from channel 11. If you followed my guide then you also have the ELE switch set up so it holds the pitch at 0. I would start checking there first.

Re: Esc power safety switch?

If the Rx has failsafe it should kick in before the attiny times out and sees a signal loss (This needs to be tested, does the Rx keep sending pulses until the failsafe engages? or does it stop for a while? How long?). The the attiny will not disarm itself, as it sees a continuous stream of pulses. ...

Re: ER9x Tarot 450 pro with xyz throttle problem...

Your throttle curves are all set to add. Change them to replace and it should start working. Same thing on the pitch channel. Also on the pitch you can remove the line that refers to curve 5. It is unnecessary because of the line below it.

Re: Esc power safety switch?

I've been using my avr Dragon for programming mine. But you can use any isp type programmer. The usbasp should be fine. Check the data sheet for the attiny25 to see where the different connections go. And don't forget a 0.1uF across 5v and ground. If you do use a usbasp make sure it is one where the...

Re: Haters gonna Hate FRSKY Vs the DX9i

I think in a couple of years the Taranis way will be the norm. Even my new Futaba 14SG has a function menu where you can select what function you want on what channel now. Note: I didn't buy the Futaba, I won it. So it was free.

Re: [IDEA] Estimate battery % based on V and A (or throttle)

I would assume that João also has some form of alarm set, so he already knows what is going on. He just has it set up to not kill the battery, by pulling the voltage too low. And not dangerous, it's called a dead stick, happens a lot with those engines that make noise and smell.

Re: Esc power safety switch?

I think depends on how it mounts in the plane. Maybe if those were the only 2 parts on that side of the board, they could stick out enough to go through the fuselage.

The rx I tested idles at a low level, the pulses are at a high level. Also the external ones always work, regardless of the uC is working or not. Looks nice Joao

Re: Esc power safety switch?

The circuit doesn't send pulses if disabled. Most escs should shut down if they get a signal loss. The 100k resistor on the rx side keeps the input from floating in case a receiver is not connected. The one on the esc side keeps the esc input from floating. I could add the code that outputs a pulse=...

Have you updated the firmware on the tez board? The original version that came with had a bug, so it doesn't send to the module. So you cannot set alarms in the module. You can find the update here: http://code.Google.com/p/9x-telemetrez

I was leaving those as places to connect the wires, so really doesn't matter. I can switch then though. The default fuse settings will be fine for the tiny.

Re: Esc power safety switch?

Ok João, Here is the first version of my code. I wrote it for an attiny25. But a 45 or 85 should be able to load the same file. Features: - 1 button enables and disables the ESC - LED lights when ESC is enabled - Checks that throttle is low before arming the ESC - automatically disables the ESC if R...

You can upload the eeprom file here. Which would be a good starting point, as then others can look at and test it also. In an attempt to reproduce your error. Also could you list the version number of the tx firmware.

The update in that firmware is mainly for xjt module support. You should update the tez to r86 I'd you haven't done that, but that is all you need.

Re: Esc power safety switch?

Yep one push button does arming and disarming. Led for status, and it can detect a low throttle pulse before allowing it to arm. Also detects pulse loss, and disables itself. Now I just need to test it. Should have something in a couple of days.

Re: Which heli

To start with go for a flybar if you can. That way you can "see" how the head is setup. If you can assemble the head straight and level everything in there it will fly just fine. Setting up a flybarless requires being able to fly the heli to complete the setup. For the 450 size make sure y...

I think you have it. To arm you would need to hold the button for 2 to 3 seconds. As well as have the pwm signal from the rx be near 1ms.

Re: Esc power safety switch?

It takes at least 2ms to read the pulse. Takes micro seconds match the voltage level. The micro doesn't need to know the pulse just whether to pass it through or not.

Re: Esc power safety switch?

I was thinking of not reading, and then sending the pulse. Simply matching the level of the input to the output. More of a pass through. Probably could have it read the incoming pulse before allowing it to be armed though. Trying to read a pulse and then send a pulse could introduce to much error an...

Re: Esc power safety switch?

On the micro idea I think it could be really simple. Using the pin change interrupt the delay through would be minimal. And with a watchdog timer if the program did for some reason stop, then the controller would reset, and disarm the esc. This probably needs an LDO regulator, so the Rx could operat...

I think he meant, should the micro circuit fail, then what happens. The circuit would simply need to be configured such that if it fails, the esc is disarmed.

Re: Introducing: TelemetrEZ

That delay is a built in thing to the software. If you flash the main board, the Tez detects that. Then disables itself for 15 seconds. Just so it doesn't interfere with the flashing process. If you power cycle the radio that delay shouldn't exist.
